Silence filled the room. Spider was at a loss for words. He had always felt the same about Charlotte, but he truly thought she liked Lo'ak.
Spider stared at her blankly, not knowing what to say.
"Spider? You good?" She waved a hand in front of him.
"Yeah, I just wasn't expecting that answer," he brushed his knotted hair of his face.
Spiders head was reeling, Charlotte had said it so causally. Spider wished he had that confidence. She had said everything he had thought about her for years in just one word. He couldn't have loved her more.
"My turn. Truth or dare?" She asked, sitting up.
"Truth, that last dare was horrible." Spider shivered, making Charlotte cover her face.
"You can totally rock a crop top tho, Just saying," (Shoulda gotten a pic Char 🙄😒)
Charlotte's pov
Charlotte yawned, it was almost 2 am (Earth time) and the pair was getting tired. Spider had gone to wash up while Charlotte changed. She had packed shorts and a baggy shirt, pretty much the same thing she had worn that day. She started setting up Spiders pillows and a blanket, she wanted to get at least some sleep tonight.
Charlotte's thoughts kept fleeting back her confession earlier. She had surprised herself, it was if she didn't have any control of what she said, the words had just come out of her mouth. Charlotte couldn't deny it though, she had always had eyes for Spider. He was the only person she felt truly comfortable with. Spider was her rock, she loved with him with all her heart.
Charlotte was brushing her hair when Spider walked out of the bathroom. She usually wore her in french braids, rarely wearing her hair down. It was the one hairstyle that kept her fluffy curls sane, so she stuck with it.
"Your hair looks pretty down." Spider said, grabbing a pillow and blanket.
Charlotte's face went red. "Thanks," she said softly. She turned to face him, hoping her red cheeks weren't noticeable. He had set up his "bed" on the floor and was sitting against his pillow, watching Charlotte.
"You tired yet?" Charlotte asked, crawling into bed.
"Yeah, you?"
"Lets get some sleep then."
Spider nodded switched off the light.
Charlotte felt so small in Spiders big empty bed. It was the same size as her own, but it seemed 10x bigger. She knew she was barely gonna sleep, it had been years since she had been in this bed.
