3rd person POV-
"Do you really mean it??"Matt said his face a bit flushed.
"Of course i do!Why wouldnt I?"Gus said with a smile and that was the breaking point for Matt he broke down into Gus' arms feeling safe but still not knowing why Gus even liked him He felt like he was just a mess his brother hardly home with the emporers coven and his mither off on buisness trips most of the time he just felt apprieciated he never felt so at ease but couldnt help but cry.
"Matty are you okay?!Did i say something wrong??"Gus asks in a concerned tone noticing Matts ears are bright red.
"Well i dont know i just feel so happy that you actually like me i know its stupid to be crying over a few words but i dont know i guess i just feel really safe around you.."Matt replied digging his head into Gus' chest while holding onto him as if he would lose Gus forever if he let go.
Gus' eyes widened slightly for a few moments until he gently hugged Matt back and they sorta just stayed like that for a while. After Matt let go wiping his eyes Gus handed him a napkin.
"You okay?"Gus said after Matt took the napkin genuinly concerned for his boyfriends mental state.
"Y-yeah.Im fine i just didnt think we i mean how did our conversation about soup turn to this?Im a freaking wreck." Matt said somewhat laughing with his hand on his face at the end he realised he hardly ever checked up on Gus he felt terrible at that realization.
"Well Gus uhm are you okay?I mean i hardly ever ask you always comfort me and i dont know i guess i dont want you to feel this is one sided i want us to work out i just dont know what i would do if you felt like-if i was the reason for-"Matt said before getting cut off by Gus.
"Im fine!Sure i have had my ups and downs but overall im okay!Sure I was used before because i was supposedly gifted but im okay!"Gus replied, Matt knew something was wrong but he didnt want to pressure Gus into it as he knew how bad it felt getting those feelings out due to pressure he wanted to give Gus time.
"Well uhh should we drink our soup now?"Gus said trying to move away from the topic Matt knew what he was doing but didnt question it.
"Sure of course!"Matt replied he took a sip of his soup and it thought it was really nice!He was talking to Gus while drinking soup and eating sandwiches he.
"That was good!"Gus said taking the last bite out of his sandwich.
"Yeah!"Matt said with a smile not showing teeth fully but it was progress!
"What now?"Gus said in a bored tone.
"I dont know."Matt said standing up and leaning on a statue and Gus got up and joined him.They talked for a while and Matt was picking at the moss during their conversation.
"Why did you join illusions?"Gus said realising he hadnt asked him about it.
"OH uhh you really want my hknest answer-?"Matt said embarrassed.
"Well yeah!"Gus replied genuinley curious.
"Well uhmm before I realise I had a crush on you I tried convincing myself I joined for fun butttttt it was for you."Matt said face in hands but Gus could see his ears were bright red.
"Really?Your not just saying that cause your my boyfriend now right?"Gus said in slight disbelief.
"Really I mean it I was a simp without knowing"Matt said it sounded muffled from Matt still having his hands on his face to hide how flustered he was.
"Wow uhm i never knew you actually liked me that much in the beginning!"Gus said also getting flustered as he actually felt special but not in the acedemic way but in a loved way he liked it and he wanted it to work out with him and Matt and if not he wanted them to atleast keep in contact.
"Hey uhm Gus because i know we are sharing stuff right now like uhm how do i say this well"Matt looked nervous and this made Gus worried but he was gonna try be as nice as possible in the situation as he doesnt knowwhat Matt will say.
"Yeah?"Gus said in a nice tone trying to urge Matt to continue with what he was aying trying to show he cares.
"Well uhm im trans...I was originally a girl and I didnt wanna tell you in case it would change how you feel about me or-or in case you werent interested in that and i just wanna say if you dont like me its okay.."Matt finally splurted out Gus was relived he felt so happy for his boyfriend about him coming out Gus was over the moon and couldnt be prouder for his boyfriend
"Matty!Im so proud of you!!!"Gus said in an excited voice.
Matt was pleasantly shocked at Gus' response amd was even more shocked when Gus gave him a little kiss on the cheek after he felt accepted and not fully understood but he knew Gus was certaintly trying his hardest and thats more then Matt could ever ask.
