song for the chapter
Snap Out of It , Arctic Monkeys

"So, you finally going to explain what all that was about?" Natasha asks sitting on the end of Danielle's bed. She had been laid out on her back silently staring at the ceiling for an hour now.

All she could think of was how aggravating Hangman was making her.
"I can't do it." she sits up. "I can't work with him. You better get Rooster to make the team."

Natasha sighs "I know. He's frustrating."

"He's more than frustrating. Ever since I met him he's always been so arrogant, bragging about his skills, trying to one up me. It's like everyday I can't stop thinking about how mad he makes me."

"You think about him everyday?" Natasha laughs "That's all he wants. To get in your head and mess with you so you don't make it."

"God I know." Danielle rubs her eyes, dragging her hands down her face. "Even when I try to call him out he just has some stupid come back."

"He's full of 'em. You'll get used to it. Come on we need to get your mind off things." Natasha stands up, holding her hands out for Danielle to grab.

"And why do I need to get up to do that?"

Natasha knew Danielle too well. She knew that if she stayed home all night until they had to get up for training again tomorrow, she wouldn't stop thinking about Hangman.

She knew that the best thing for her was to get him off her mind so she could be focusing on the actual mission. So, she had already called the boys and checked if they wanted to go to the Hard Deck for a few hours.

"Because we're going to get a drink." she grands Danielle's hands. "Now come on, let's go get drunk." Natasha laughs pulling her off the bed.

"Alright let's get drunk."

Soon enough a truck pulled op outside to pick up Danielle and Natasha. Payback was driving while Fanboy sat in the passenger seat with Rooster in the back.

"What happened to Bob?" Natasha asked as the two women climbed into the back with Rooster.

"He said he needed rest instead of alcohol." Payback says, watching the two climb in before driving off.

"Drag him with you next time." Natasha jokes as they all listen to music, heading to the bar.
"Is it just us tonight?"

"As far as I know." Rooster shrugs looking at Natasha, then over at Danielle.

She hadn't fully come out of the funk just yet. At the moment, her head was leaning against the headrest and she was staring out the window. She really needed to get her mind off things, and Rooster could tell.

Pulling up to the bar, the group flooded out of the truck and made their way inside, all greeting Penny loudly. After ordering each of their drinks they decided to play a not-so-serious game of pool.

Danielle had been through a few drinks and had now claimed that she would beat all the guys easy. Natasha thought it was hilarious and decided to watch.

"Watch." Danielle grabs a cue and lines up her shot, sinking it into the pocket. "Hell yeah!" she laughs walking around the table.

"I'll bet you can't hit the orange in from where you are." Payback pointed as she adjusted her cue again.

"Really? Watch me." she stared forward, focused. She liked up the cue and took her shot. Sinking it once again.

"How about that." Rooster laughs taking a sip of his drink.
"Shots on me guys." Danielle says, walking off to the bar to pick up the shots.

Rooster sets his cup down, watching her walk off. Natasha walks up behind him, putting her hand on his shoulder.
"What're you doing?"

"Having a drink?" he looks at her confused.
"You were checking her out." Natasha punches his arm.

"I was not. I'm probably just drunk." Rooster laughs and shakes his head, finishing off his current drink.
"You better be. I don't think she's into in you."

"What's that supposed to mean?"
Natasha laughs. "Have you seen her and Hangman."

"Yeah I saw them arguing and trying to tear each others throats out earlier. What's your point?" Rooster furrows his brows.

"She's gotta have a thing for him." Natasha watched as Danielle starts to pick up all the shots from the bar.

"I think she hates him. Isn't that the whole reason we're here?" Rooster looks over and sees her carrying the small glasses.

"Yeah, but I don't think she hates him as much as she claims to."

"Shots for everyone!" Danielle says setting them all down onto a small table. She pics up her own and swigs it back right away.
The rest gather around and grab their own glass, taking the shot.

After they all set the glasses down Danielle reaches out for Natasha and grabs her hands. "Dance with me."
Natasha smiles and walks away from the table, starting to dance.

Across the room, sitting at the bar was Hangman. He had come in not too long after they finished for the day at Top Gun. He has been in there since, having a few beers, talking to a few people.

He had noticed the group come in but decided not to say anything. Now, he sat watching from afar. He watched as Danielle and Natasha made their way to dance together.

He almost felt bad for making her upset earlier. But he had to do what he could to go on this mission. He had to prove he was the best.

He watched the two dance as he took one last swig of his drink to end the night before closing out his tab. As he got up to leave, Natasha caught sight of him in the corner of her eye.

She carefully snuck away from Danielle, who was too busy dancing to care, and followed him out into the parking lot.

"Hangman." she called out, watching him stop walking.
"What do you want?" he asks, turning around.

"I didn't know you were here." she walks over to him.
He gives a small nod. "I didn't want to bother you guys."

"Yeah Poison was pretty pissed at you."
Hangman sighs "Why did you follow me out here? What's the point if you're just going to tell me what a dick i am."

Natasha stares at him for a moment before answering. "She's going to give you another chance." Sure it was a lie, but he didn't need to know.

"I don't care I already screwed up. Besides all I care about is getting on that mission." he turns around, ready to leave.

"Just-" Natasha sighs "Try again tomorrow, okay?"

"You sound drunk." he starts walking away. "Take care of yourself."
