"So..." I started. "Want to tell me why you you were talking to Tiffany Carmichael about me?"

"What?" Billy asked seeming completely clueless. He seemed genuine but no one else knew about my life.

"Nothing." I wasn't in the mood to argue. It was late, I was tired and I just wanted to shut myself away and not talk to anyone. I pulled my legs up hugging my knees to my chest while I rested my head on the window.

"Don't do that." He spoke up after a beat of silence.

"Do what?" I replied nonchalantly.

"Don't shut me out again."

I moved my head off the window and turned to look at Billy. His eyes only left me occasionally to focus on the road but when they were on me, he was begging for me to talk to him.

"You told her about me."

"She told me some of the other girls had been chatting shit about you, I just put her straight."

"I don't need you to fight my battles for me, Billy." Hot tears stung my eyes.

"Seriously babe? Where's this all coming from?!" He rose his voice. I could tell I was annoying him, great. "Is it because of your dad?"

"He came back for me." I turned my head to him again, this time I could stop a few tears escaping. Fuck sake why am I always so weak. "He came back and I wasn't here."

Billy was at a lose of words. I could tell he was trying to think of a way to comfort me, he just didn't know how to do it with words. He never has been able to. Instead he reaches over for my hand a squeezes it before rubbing his thumb up and down in comfortable silence.

By the time we got home neither one of us made an attempt to leave the warmth of Billy's car. We knew behind that door Neil was waiting for us.

Billy still had hold of my hand, and with my free hand I gripped his upper arm. Once we stepped through that door we would be sent to our separate rooms without a word. He pulled me closer and placed a kiss on my temple before whispering comforting words to me.

We made our way onto the porch and opened the door. The hallway lights were off and for a minute we thought we were lucky.

Thought.

Neil switched on the lights and we could see him sitting on a chair at the side of the wall. His tie was pulled down and his top button was undone, his hair disheveled. Beside him on a table was an almost empty beer bottle.

Billy led me in and I kept my eyes down trying to avoid Neils stare. I really didn't want to deal with him right now.

"You're late." He said lowly.

"It was my fault, Billy has nothing to do with this." I stepped in front of Billy. I could see the anger in Neils eyes, he wanted to shout and scream. He stepped forward so he was practically hovering over me. He wasn't an overly tall man, but he was intimidating.

"That's strike two." He whispered loud enough for Billy to hear. "One more strike and you are out. I won't hesitate to fly you back to California myself and dump you back on the streets where you belong."

His words hit me hard. He had all the power he needed over me.

"Get out of my sight." He said stepping back slightly to let me pass. I looked back to Billy but he nodded telling me it was okay. Without looking at Neil again I pushed past him to my room.

I opened the door slightly, I could see Max peering over her covers. When she saw it was me she jumped up out of bed and ran over to me. She wrapped her arms around my waist while I pulled her in close.

"Are you okay?" She asked looking back slightly. I tucked a piece of hair behind her ear and nodded with the best smile I could pull right now.

Without another word Max tucked herself back in her bed and drifted off quite quickly. Me on the other hand, couldn't get a wink of sleep. There was too much on my mind and so much had happened in just one day. I thought being back here could be good for me.

God, how I was wrong.

The next day went by in a blur. I kept my head down and tried to avoid any distractions. Tiffany hadn't tried to bother me again, I wonder if Billy had said something to her. Brody had approached me during forth to remind me about the party happening tonight. I facepalmed, completely forgetting about the party with everything that had gone on. Not that I wanted to go anyway but Billy had convinced me.

I was now at home getting ready. Max had gone out trick or treating and Neil and Susan were both working. After last night Neil hadn't spoken a single word to me nor Billy.

I had finished strapping my red heels that I would definitely regret later and applied another layer of red lipstick in the mirror. When I looked up I noticed Billy leaning against the door with his arms crossed looking me up and down. I smirked at him and gave him a wink in the mirror.

"What do you think?" I asked spinning round to face him. Showing off my Sandy costume.

He whistled lowly looking me up and down once more. "I think you are the sexiest girl I've ever laid my eyes on."

I felt the heat run up my neck. "You have to say that because we're dating."

I turned back to the mirror taking in my look one more time. He's right... I looked good. But then the thought of looking like this in a crowd full of people suddenly made me self conscious. Billy could see I was fighting with my thoughts and stood behind me, pulling me back into his bare chest.

"That may be true, but I don't lie." He brushed my hair back behind my shoulder kissed my collar bone, up my neck and along my jawline. I breathed out closing my eyes and sunk further into him. He ran his hands up my thighs along my tight leather trouser and made his was to my core.

"And when we are done later." I let out a gasp as his fingers dug under my waistband just hovering above my sensitive area. "I'm going to rip this sexy outfit off and have my way with you."

He pulled back and walked away from me towards the front door where he was waiting with his keys and my jacket. It took me a few seconds to catch my breath after that stunt he pulled. But it worked, I felt so much more confident. Once my thoughts had settled I made my way to the door to meet Billy.

"Tease." I snatched my jacket from him.

"You love it." He smirked slapping my ass as I walked out the door.
