WEDNESDAYMaise's POV
"SAY YES TO HEAVENNNNN, SAY YES TO ME!" I bellow out at the top of my lungs.
"IF YOU GO, I'LL STAY!" Keli jumps on my shoulders, and I start spinning her around in circles, laughing loud enough to attract every student's stare in the hallway.
"YOU COME BACK, I'LL BE RIGHT HER--"
"Do either of you have any idea what time it is right now?" Jenna Ortega appears beside us, trying to behead me with her witchy glare.
Keli hops down from my shoulders, bowing her head to apologise. She's the calm in our friendship. I'm the rage. I have both parents and older brother to thank for that. Our gene pool is more accurately described as blazing lava.
I hold Jenna's glare.
I don't know what it is about her, but I hate her with every mean bone in my body. Maybe it's because everyone at school worships her and I just can't see the appeal.
Jenna equally hates me, so at least it's a mutual thing. Nothing she has to say to me is relatively nice. Far from to be precise. She bitches about everything, and no, I'm not exaggerating. She's like some Karen trapped in a gen z kids body. Seriously she can't go a day without complaining. Today is no different.
"Karaoke time. Shame you weren't invited?"
"Shame? No, I'm glad." She snorts. "If I had to suffer through any more of your ear screeching horror, I think I would've keeled over and died."
"Then we would finally see more sun seeing as you suck all the light away."
Jenna steps toward me, anger has swallowed her pupils. I smirk, meeting her halfway with a single stride.
Keli intervenes between us, her hands pressing firmly into my chest. "Let's not get physical. You're already on your last warning, Maise."
"Okay, mom."
"Yeah, listen to your-"
"Get lost, Ortega."
Jenna has a smug grin on her face as she walks away, bumping into me in passing just to be a petty bitch.
I face Keli with a pout. "I was so close to beating her ass."
"And even closer to getting expelled." Keli scolds, picking up the gym bag that fell when I spun her in circles.
"Like that's on my list of worries." I mutter.
"Whose hosting tryouts later since coach is still on leave for another week?"
"Liv put her hand up for it." I say, spotting the blonde haired girl down the hall. "Here she is now."
"Guess who I just saw eating Penelope Hugh's face off?" Liv is a gossip whore. Every day she's filling us in on all the drama we've missed and all the drama we very obviously chose to avoid.
"Werewolf?"
Liv narrows her eyes at me. "Good one. Now be realistic this time."
Keli shoots me an amused smile over Liv's shoulder. "I don't know, Liv. Why don't you tell us?"
"Devon Khings. It was a saliva fest, you should've seen it- Augh. I was seconds away from losing my breakfast."
"Well that couldn't have been more than a cigarette." Keli remarks.
"I had porridge this morning, asshole" Liv fires back defensively.
She's obsessed with cigarettes. So unhealthy that between every class, she has to inhale one down or she claims death will take her. It's gotten worse now that we're older. She started smoking in freshman year, and now we're seniors.
