TUESDAY

Was I nervous about Jenna coming over— No.

That's not why I deep cleaned my bedroom, and by deep clean I mean shove everything into my closet and pray no one opens it.

She's not the reason I begged my mom not to be seen or heard since it's her day off.

Or the reason I shaved everywhere.

Jenna Ortega doesn't hold any power over me.

And yet I find myself melting to the floor when I see her waiting outside my front door with a dimpled smile.

"Heyho."

My eyes widen.

"Did you just call me a hoe?"

"Not intentionally." I feel my face heat up. "Wanna go upstairs?"

She glances behind me, picking up on the tv my mom was blasting from the other room.

"No, Maise, I will not have sex with you in your bedroom!"

My mouth slacks open and I watch helplessly as my mom strides into the room.

So much for not being seen or heard.

"You two lovebirds will need protection if you're planning to do the devil's tango. I don't want to become a grandma so soon." I notice Jenna's brows furrow when my mom blurts the word protection. I too, couldn't believe she almost outed me.

"Oh my god, mom! Don't call it that!"

"Would you prefer me to call it hanky panky?"

"I would prefer if you didn't bring it up at all. That's not a conversation I'd like to have with my mom."

"No need to be embarrassed. Sex is natural and sometimes beautiful. Just don't be doing it under my roof."

"Oh my god."

"Personally, I think devils tango is catchy." Jenna winks at me and then smiles innocently at my mom.

"At least someone has taste."

"Mom, please stop. Aren't you missing something important on your show?"

"I think teasing my daughter in front of her girlfriend is far more entertaining than a teen drama show."

I grab Jenna's hand. "Upstairs. Now."

Mom only laughs. "Keep that door open!"

I slam my door shut in spite of her wishes. Jenna giggles at my flushed face as I collapse onto my bed, hoping the silk of my sheets would soothe my hot skin.

"You rearranged everything." She notes.

I couldn't sleep last night so I shifted around every piece of furniture I own. Except the bed because there's a hole in the wall that my parents don't need to know about just yet.

"Wasn't me. A fairy flew in my window last night and spread her magic everywhere."

"Ha ha," she says with a straight face. "What do you want to do today?"

I purse my lips. "Uh.. I don't know. We kinda went from not liking each other to making out in a bathroom. This is the first time we've been alone in awhile."
