It was a bright, sunny day. The trees were gently swaying in the wind and forest air was crisp. In the midst of the trees, there was a young man. His hair was short and dark blonde and his clothes were casual and well worn, and there was a satchel across his chest. He was looking around for the exit to the forest; he had wandered too far and got lost.
Suddenly, he heard a rustling noise. He frantically looked around, trying to find where the sound was coming from. Suddenly, he heard something come out of the foliage. The boy quickly turned around to see what was approaching him. He saw a tall, slim boy in a military uniform. The mysterious boy walked over to him.
"Hello." He said, "Are you lost?"
"Umm...no. I'm just looking around." The other boy replied.
"You're lost." The boy in uniform said, circling around the other boy, "And don't worry. I know this forest like the back of my hand. I can show you the way out."
The boy observed the boy in uniform. He was tall, skinny, and had short black hair with long bangs. His face was slim and feminine and his smile was thin and wide. His uniform was navy blue and looked like a long coat.
"I...guess I could use some help." The boy said, scratching the back of his head. "What's your name?" The boy in uniform asked.
"It's...Hongjoong."
"Hello, Hongjoong! I'm Seonghwa."
Seonghwa started walking out of the forest.
"Don't worry, Hongjoong." He said, "Just come with me."
Hongjoong hesitantly followed Seonghwa through the forest.
A Moment Later...
After a short walk, Seonghwa had led Hongjoong to the marketplace near the forest.
"I don't know how I got so lost." Hongjoong said, laughing a bit, "Thank you, Seonghwa!"
"Heh. Just doing my job." Seonghwa replied.
"Your job?"
"Well, I'm a commander of an army. But...I lost them, somehow. I just lost sight of them one day, and I haven't seen them since."
Hongjoong could see the sadness in his eyes. He felt bad for Seonghwa.
"Hey, it's okay. I'm sure you'll find them someday." He said, putting a hand on Seonghwa's shoulder, "Hey! What if you join me? I'm on a journey myself and I could really use someone to help me out!"
"Me?! You want me to join you?!" Seonghwa asked in disbelief.
Hongjoong smiled and nodded. Seonghwa smiled back at him.
"Thank you, Hongjoong!!" He exclaimed.
He wrapped Hongjoong in a tight hug, and Hongjoong hugged him back. After a moment, Seonghwa backed away a bit and kept his hands on Hongjoong's shoulders.
"Don't worry, Hongjoong! I won't let you down!" He said enthusiastically, his smile still beaming.
Hongjoong smiled back at him. He was glad to have finally found a partner to travel with.
"So...where are you going?" Seonghwa asked, "What's your goal?"
"Well...actually, I don't have a specific goal in mind." Hongjoong replied, "But I like to travel a lot! It's a scenic place, there's lots to see!"
Seonghwa put his arm around Hongjoong.
"Something tells me we're going to be great friends!" He said, smiling, "So, where do we start?"
"Well, we could start with getting some rest, haha!" Hongjoong said, laughing a bit, "I can rent a room in the inn."
"*Yawn* Good idea!"
Hongjoong chuckled at him. They walked to the inn, their arms around each other.
At the Inn...
Hongjoong and Seonghwa rented a room in the inn. They walked upstairs into the room they picked and looked around. It was a small room, but it had two beds for two people.
"Well, I guess we're going to rest here for the night." Hongjoong said.
Seonghwa walked past him to the center of the room and examined it. After a short moment, he nodded his head and walked over to the bed. He sat down, then laid down. He was laying sideways on the bed.
"*Sigh* I haven't had a rest like this in a while." He said.
Hongjoong smiled at him. Seonghwa adjusted himself so that he was laying vertically on the bed and gently closed his eyes with a relaxed sigh.
"What about the covers?" Hongjoong asked him.
"I don't need the covers." Seonghwa said, "This uniform is heavy enough."
Hongjoong laid down in his bed and pulled the covers over himself. He turned off the lamp on the nightstand and Seonghwa turned off his lamp.
"Goodnight, Hongjoong." Seonghwa said.
"'Night, Seonghwa!" Hongjoong said back.
And with that, they both fell asleep.
