CHAPTER 3:
Not Playing Nice
The next day, everything is weird.
There's no usual breakfast on the table when Eli gets up in the morning, his Dad already putting on his coat by the door once he reaches the kitchen.
"Where are you going?"
"The Sheriff is investigating the scene, where you found Luke. I'm gonna help out," He explains.
Eli frowns suddenly. "Wait, and where is Luke?"
"In my room, he's still out." Derek tells him, his voice so calm, his son can swear that for his Dad it's only a normal Tuesday. "Don't worry about it, just get to school."
"What if he wakes up!?" The brown-haired boy wonders, stopping the man from exiting the house. This may be under control for his Dad, but Eli's freaking out.
"I locked the door,"
"Oh," It's the only thing Eli manages to get out before Derek walks out.
He's left behind, his heart beating loud at his ears. He looks behind him, the hallway where the bedrooms are in front of him. Eli doesn't know much about the supernatural – only what Derek felt he needed to know – that being Alice's speciality instead. So, yeah he's panicking. What if this strange teenager wakes up and goes crazy? He's a werewolf now, he'll be confused and angry. Eli's spiraling at this point.
Takes him two whole minutes to move, his legs walking him to Derek's room. He still remembers how Ali wanted Luke to stay at her place, Derek refused immediately. Noah seconded it right after. They said it would be safer to keep him here, two werewolves can take him. It's safer. Except, Eli can't even transform. He can't even howl properly. How is it safer?
The door swings open once he unlocks it, Luke's figure laying on the large bed. He's tied up, Eli did it while Derek prepared dinner, he's not even sure his Dad noticed how there was tape around Luke's ankles and wrists when he got back to the room. Yet, somehow, tape is still unreliable in Eli's eyes, which is why he contemplates on what to do, not having much confidence on his Dad's plan or the tape. Luke will be a werewolf when he wakes up, he could tear this door down in one swing if he wants to. What if he wants to?
However, before Eli can really do anything, the doorbell rings. It startles him, and once he opens the front door, he's even more scared. In front of him stands Alice Stilinski.
"What are you doing here?"
"Morning to you too!" She rushes in, throwing her bag by the door. She turns to face him then. "I came to check on Luke before we go to school,"
Eli clears his throat. "Oh, It's better not, Ali. He's sleeping,"
"Can I see him?" Alice asks.
Eli leaves a frustated sigh. "Why? He's fine, let's just... Let's just go to school."
