Auston Matthews

You rubbed your eyes as you woke up to a kiss on your forehead,

    "Morning," you groaned stretching.

    "Happy Valentine's day my love," Auston whispered sitting on the bed next to you. You looked up at him sighing and smiling.

    "Happy Valentine's day," you said sitting up in bed. He pushed you back,

"Stay comfortable babe," he said rubbing his hand across your forehead. You leaned back and let your head hit your pillow as Auston lay next to you. You and Auston had been together for a little over two years and you were in love with everything about him. He was your person and you couldn't be happier, even through all your ups and downs he still loved you.

"So what are we doing today?" you smiled as Auston wrapped his arm around your waist pulling you closer to him.    

    "Oh I have something special planned Y/N, but it's not ready yet," you blushed.

    "Oh really," you grinned shoving your face into his shoulder and hiding the smile stretching across your face.

"Yes really," he lifted your face by your chin, pulling it closer to his. You wrapped your arms around his neck placing a kiss on his lips.

"How did I get so lucky?"

"I should be the one saying that," he said pressing his lips to yours once again. The two of you got up and went to the kitchen where you began to make breakfast. Auston wrapped his arms around you as you stood at the stove making omelets for the two of you. Omelets were one of Auston's favorite things you would make him. You handed him his plate as the two of you sat at your kitchen counter,

"So what's the special plan?" you asked him.

"I can't tell you,"

"Oh come on please," you shot him the puppy dog eyes,

"I can't Y/N, you will ruin the surprise,"

"Well, how am I supposed to know what to wear today?"

"Dress nice Y/N that's all," he smiled taking a bite of his omelet. His eyes shot wide open after the first bite then took another quickly, then another.

"Is it good babe?" You watched him stuff his face full of eggs.

"Delicious," he said with a mouthful and cheese dripping on his lips. You handed him a napkin. You began to eat yours as he finished his. Once the two of you had finished breakfast you found yourselves snuggled under a blanket on the couch. Auston didn't have any kind of practice or a game today which meant all your time could be spent with him. Auston had put on a movie and began to drift off in your arms when he had gotten home last night you had fallen asleep before he joined you in bed, and he was up early this morning and was exhausted. You did your best to remain still to let him sleep on you while laying on the couch. You saw his phone light up on the couch next to you, it was a text from Mitch. You really wanted to look, but also wanted to respect Auston's privacy. It buzzed again with another message from Mitch, then another. You didn't think he would mind especially since you and Mitch were close and if answering Mitch would stop his phone from buzzing and prevent waking him it would be fine. You unlocked his phone seeing the wallpaper with a picture of the both of you. You opened his messages and began to read,

"Everything is in place"

"We are ahead of schedule, Steph and I are gonna head out,"

"Where should I put the ring?"

The word ring made your heart stop. This was the special plan, while it certainly was a surprise you had been waiting for. You felt Auston shift on your chest and quickly put his phone down, you picked up your phone and acted like you had been on it for a while in case he woke up. No wonder Auston was so tired he was organizing plans all night and all morning, you could definitely see the effort he was putting in. While Auston slept all you could think about was what you saw on his phone. You layed there thinking when he woke up to see your stunned face and that the movie had ended.

    "Oh, did I fall asleep?" He saw your stunned face, "Y/N, what's wrong did something happen? Why didn't you wake me?" You took a deep breath.

    "Nothing is wrong Auston," you smiled, "Mitch texted you," Auston quickly grabbed his phone, his face turned to panic he was probably hoping you didn't read the messages. He sits up and tells you to get ready. You run into your room while he sits on the couch answering Mitch. You dig through your closet to find your favorite white dress. You do your hair and makeup in the bathroom when Auston stands in the bathroom doorway.

    "Woah," he smirks, "you look hot,"

    "I try," you roll your eyes. You weren't a huge fan of compliments but when they came from Auston they were okay.

    "You don't need to try," he laughed. You blushed and felt your heart begin to race as you continued to do your hair. Once you finished getting ready you waited for Auston. He walked out of your room and stood in the doorway. You smiled looking at him,

    "You look hot," you said.

    "I try," he said mocking you from earlier, "come on we gotta go," he held out his hand. You stood up and took his hand guiding you to your coat hanging on the door. He held it up and wrapped you in it as the two of you headed out the door. You went to the restaurant where the two of you had your first date, the lights were all dimmed. He opened the door for you and guided you in. All the tables had candles on them and were sprinkled with rose petals. There was one table in the center where he led you to. You both sat down at the table and began to talk, just enjoying the atmosphere. You both ordered your meals, and you both ordered the same thing you had got on your first date, spaghetti and meatballs and a caesar salad. You took your first bite once it got to the table,

    "Just like how I remember," you smiled

    "Yeah exactly, look where that took us," he smiled and stood up, "I'll be right back Y/N," he headed towards the back of the restaurant. You sat there waiting with your thoughts looking around and eating your spaghetti and salad. He was back very briefly, he sighed and sat down.

    "Now where were we," he said, picking up his fork. The two of you continued to talk, reminiscing about your time together. Once the two of you finished your meals Auston ordered the two of you dessert. He reached for your hand across the table and stood up once again. Using his other hand he pulled a small box out of his pocket, making the butterflies in your stomach begin to fly,

    "Auston I-"

    "Y/N, this entire night we have been recapping our relationship, and these past two years have been incredible, I can not wait for what the future has in store for us Y/N. I love you so much Y/N and I can not imagine spending the rest of my life without you, which is why," Auston opened the box to reveal one of the most gorgeous rings you have ever seen. You felt your eyes begin to water and placed your hand over your mouth.

    "Will you marry me?"

    "Yes, Yes oh my gosh yes," you began to laugh through your tears. Auston slid the ring over your finger as he stood up.

    "I love you my future Mrs. Matthews," he said, wrapping his arms around you.

    "I love you more," you said, pulling his face to yours. You pressed your lips to his as the lights in the restaurant lit up, and you saw your closest friends surrounding the two of you applauding. Your lips broke apart as you smiled hugging Auston.

    "Auston? You did all this for me?"

    "Anything for the love of my life," he smiled, kissing you again. Your friends began congratulating you as you both sat back down to eat your dessert. This was the best Valentine's Day you had ever had, and being with Auston made it even more special.
