Thor lands on Asgard after a long trip to Jotunheimr where Sif and Magni greet him. They go back inside Bilskirnir, the hall that they live in while Odin watches from afar.

Odin sits on his throne in Valhalla, while the Einherjar come to him to share him the news sent by their informant in Vanaheim. "Enlighten me." Odin said. "All-Father. A war is coming. The Vanir plan to wage war on the Asgardians." The informant says to the All-Father. "I saw this coming. Now quick, get out of here before you get made to." Odin says to the Einherjar as they walk out of the room. Odin thinks to himself. His illness, of which only Frigg knows about, has been slowly killing the All-Father.

Odin deduces that he must find someone new to take up the mantle of the King of Asgard.

An Einherjar approach the Bifröst, to where Heimdallr has begun drinking mead.

"Heimdallr," says the Einherjar.

"Yes?" Heimdallr replies.

"The All-Father wants a word with you." says the Einherjar.

"May I ask if I am in trouble?" Heimdallr says to the Einherjar.

"No. The All-Father wants to discuss.. the future of the Æsir with you. Magni will watch the Bifröst in the meantime." the Einherjar says as Magni walks towards the Bifröst past Heimdallr.

Heimdallr gets up, and picks up the Gjallarhorn and puts it on a hook on his back. "Very well." Heimdallr walks to Valhalla with the Einherjar. He goes there to meet Thor, Baldur, and Loki. Heimdallr and Loki have had a very bitter relationship ever since they met.

"Brother, do you know what this is about?" Heimdallr said to Thor.

Thor shakes his head and says "All I know is that an Einherjar interrupted me when I was with Sif." Odin comes from behind his throne and sits on it infront of the four said gods standing before him, with Frigg standing next to said throne. Odin puts the head of Mimir on his throne.

"Gentlemen. You are probably wondering why I have gathered you fine warriors here. I am in suit of a new King of Asgard. You are not allowed to ask why. The four of you each have a chance of becoming the king." Odin says to the four gods.

"But All-Father, why Loki?" Heimdallr says to Odin.

"Why not Loki?" Odin says to Heimdallr.

"You know about his antics, All-Father. Loki is not to be trusted." Heimdallr complains. "I mean, think about Freyja! She trusted Loki and regretted it!"

"All-Father, I.. have to agree with Heimdallr on this one. I don't see why you would choose Loki. I personally think Týr would've been a better option." Baldur speaks.

"Mimir, what do you think about this?" Heimdallr asks.

"I personally think you should listen to the All-Father and stop whining like a baby." Mimir tells Heimdallr.

"Besides, Loki has proven himself to be quite useful the past few years." Frigg says.

"Now quickly, disperse and go do your own thing. Me and Frigg have things to do." Odin says to the four gods.

Loki giggles. "In bed?"

"If you want to believe that. Now get out of my sight." Odin says as they walk out of Valhalla.

Heimdallr, Thor, and Baldur sit in Thor's home in Bilskirnir. Heimdallr is infuriated, Baldur is confused, and Thor is drinking mead. In pure rage, Heimdallr grabs a vase and throws it to a wall, it breaking on impact.

"This is nonsensical. Loki? King of Asgard? That's just sounds.. wrong!" Heimdallr shouts.

"The All-Father has made some questionable decisions, but this is just out of the question." Baldur says standing up.

Thor stands up.

"That's enough, Heimdallr." Thor says to Heimdallr.

"Why is that, Thor?" Heimdallr says.

"I agree with the All-Father. Loki has proven his worth. He's not bad." Thor says to Heimdallr about Loki.

"Since when did you always take Loki's side?!" Baldur says to Thor.

"I'm not taking sides, Baldur. I'm looking at the facts here." Thor says back to Baldur.

"Oh, I get it. It's because you and Loki have Giant blood, righ-" Baldur says before being cut off.

"DO NOT!..." Thor says to Baldur pointing Mjölnir at him. He puts down the hammer after regaining his cool. "..associate me with Giants. I am Asgardian. And I would prefer to keep it that way."

Thor exits Bilskirnir while Heimdallr and Baldur stay.

"I do not care if I become king or not. I only care that Loki does not." Heimdallr says to Baldur.

"How do you plan to stop that from happening?" Baldur says, curiously.

"I... don't know. But, we will figure it out. Will you help me?" Heimdallr says to Baldur.

Baldur nods in agreement. Heimdallr extends his hand for a handshake, with Baldur shaking his hand in return.
