Do you recall
Not long ago
We talked about how
You'll ask for my hand
And we'll tie the knot.
But when I brought it up
Over a text
You just shot me down
Saying it's too soon
Yeah it hurt. A lot.
Now I'm crying alone
Wondering what I did wrong
Hoping against hope
You call me again
To ask me out.
And when we get there
You get down on your knee
Take out the ring
Hold it out and ask
"Will you marry me?"
I'll say "Yes, oh yes!"
With tears in my eyes
I'll hug you tight
And sob for a while
In your comforting embrace.
Oh how I wish
This was true
And you were
Thinking of me too...
Is this too much to ask for?
