The night was going great. Everyone seemed to be happy and having fun, including me. I was. Even Matt and Foggy were. Although Foggy had to see his ex-girlfriend, which was probably not the nicest thing on earth, he seemed to be okay with it. Maybe the drinks helped him as well.

There was only one thing capturing my attention. Matt's phone. It would not stop ringing and eventually he also became annoyed at it. I asked him twice if everything was okay. He kept on saying yes which I really doubted.

Something was clearly not okay. I knew that expression on his face. I knew him better than he thought and I couldn't hear any heartbeats.

"Who is calling you!?" I ended up asking as it was annoying me the amount of times he would be declining calls after calls while Foggy and I were trying to talk to him and have a normal conversation.

"It's just a client. Nobody important" he answered.

"They haven't stopped calling you, it sounds important. Why don't you go outside and see what they need? Call them back"

"Don't worry, they're fine"

"It's none of my business. I don't care" I mumbled.

"I get it, it's annoying everyone. I'll turn this off, so I won't get any more calls" he said while taking his phone out of his pocket and eventually allowing me to see Elektra's name on it, not on purpose.

Foggy had mentioned before that she was Matt's ex-girlfriend. I trusted Matt, but what could she possibly want from him? It was so weird, specially because Matt told me he was different and that he would not lie to me anymore. He was lying already. I doubt she was his client.

"I am sorry, what were we talking about?" Matt asked after turning his phone off.

"You mean Ava and I?" Foggy asked sarcastically.

"Sorry, guys. You're right. I wasn't paying attention" he answered.

"It's okay. It's late anyway. We should probably call it a night and go home" I said.

"It's not that late, is it?" Matt asked.

"It is to me. A girl shouldn't be going home so late. It's kind of dangerous"

"Who said I was going to let you go home by yourself? I will take you home. Obviously"

"It's okay, you can enjoy the rest of the party. I am really tired"

"Come on, Ava. What's this all about now? Let me take you home. It will be safer"

"Okay, fine. Whatever"

After hearing Matt insisting on taking me home, I ended up accepting it. I knew I was a lot safer with him, I just hated bothering people with anything.

I said goodbye to all my friends and the rest of the people at the party and got ready to leave with Matt. As soon as we started reaching the door, I got my car keys out of my purse.

"Shit" I heard Matt mumbling right after I walked out of the door.

I looked around already fully outside of Nadia's place and realized there was a girl staring at us the entire time. I thought that it could be a neighbor or just some random person who was walking by. A really weird person. I kept walking towards my car until she started walking towards us, making me walk faster at each step.

"Matthew, stop pretending you don't know I am here" she said with a foreigner accent.

Of course she knew Matt. It had to be the crazy ex-girlfriend. Matt took a deep breath before facing her.
