XXXI - The Escape

"Are you okay, Fog?" I asked Foggy right after our car accident.

"Yeah! Are you? That dumbass did this on purpose" he answered.

"I can see your location, you're outside the building we're at" We heard Dan saying over the phone. "I'll try to meet you halfway. Get inside"

"We're on our way!" I said before Dan hangout the call. "I am going to have to question Matt about how he has my location on his phone"

"What do you mean?"

"Dan said he can see my location"

"The man loves you, Ava. Matt, I mean" Foggy said making me roll my eyes in a funny way.

We were running to the building right behind the other man who had the pen drive until we got stopped by Elektra. Clearly she had no plans on giving up. She was focused on taking us all down.

"You're both weak and there is nothing you can do, so stay right there" she started.

"Why are you doing this?" I asked.

"That is none of your business. It is ridiculous how you're still here"

"If you love Matt that much, why do you want to hurt him?"

"I am not hurting Matt, you are" she said trying to manipulate me and gain time.

"I got no time for this" I said walking towards her.

  Elektra began to attack me while I tried to escape all of her punches and kicks just as I learned in my self-defence classes. I was aware that fighting with her was not the same as defending myself from an ordinary human, but I had to be persistent.

Surprisingly, I managed to punch her with all my strength. A strength that I did not know I had and that it was pointless anyway. It was enough to gain time.

"You shouldn't have done that" Elektra told me looking way more furious than before.

Foggy unsuccessfully tried to hit her with a brick he found on the road, driving all her attention to him. He failed miserably, so I gave it a chance as well. I did not want to kill her. All I wanted was to get in that building and save Matt. Instead, he saved me. As usual.

"Elektra!" I heard Matt yelling before I took the chance to hit her with the brick. "Ava? Put that thing down"

"I keep forgetting about his abilities to see without actually seeing" I told Foggy.

"And the ability to hear from a fair distance" Matt answered smiling.

"Cute" Elektra sarcastically said. "Have you been training your girlfriend too, Matthew?"

"Training?"

"She could be dead by now. I think she did pretty good avoiding my punches. I'm impressed"

Matt looked confused and did not say a word.

"Or maybe not. I was expecting you to show up. I could've killed her in a second if I wanted to" she continued.

"I know you can. What would you gain from that though? More pain and hate?"

"Oh Matthew. I would get to destroy you once again. The same way you destroyed me"

"You know why our relationship didn't work and how it was all your fault, Elektra. Can't you see how The Hand is manipulating you over and over again?"

"Guess what, Matty? I don't care"

Matt and Elektra started another fight. Foggy and I got in the building trying to find Dan and the man who stole the pen drive.

"This is never going to end" Foggy said regarding Matt and Elektra.
