Chapter seven

i woke up in my room, the sun pouring from my blinds as i remembered the events of last night. johnny and twobit had walked me over to my place then went their separate ways.

i got out of bed, stretching, before i suddenly got a call. i reached over to my nightstand to pick up my red telephone and held it to my ear as i sat crisscrossed on my bed. "hello?"

"hey y/n, it's johnny. wanna meet at the lot today? i have somethin' to show ya" his raspy voice came through the phone. my heart immediately started pounding, hearing his voice had this effect on me. johnny had this effect on me. gosh, i like him so much. "sure johnny, meet you there in...?" i questioned, "could you do 10 minutes?" he spoke. "yeah, see you in 10 johnny" the smile in my voice was apparent. as i put the phone down, i thought to myself. i really like johnny.

and to be honest, i don't think i want to be friends with him. i want to be more. i know that i do, because the things johnny has made me feel recently aren't what friends make you feel.

that's it. when i get to the lot im going to tell him how i feel, i mean, the worst he can say is no right? i want him to know how i feel about him, these emotions are too much to keep in.

~ JOHNNY'S POV ~

i was pacing around the lot, lost in thought. i love y/n. i guess i always did, from the very first moment i met her. her eyes just had this spark to her, she was beautiful.

i really wanted to tell her. oh who am i kidding? no way a girl like that could love me. i'm not even that attractive, meanwhile y/n is the nicest, sweetest, and most beautiful girl i have ever seen, inside and out.

just shut your trap man.

anyway, i told y/n to meet me here because i wanted to spend more time with her, take her to the tulsa sunset viewing point—the most beautiful place to view a sunset in all of Tulsa. i wanted her to see her equivalence of beauty, okay maybe the sunset isn't as gorgeous as her, but still, it's sure pretty.

i paced around, anxious, as i waited for her. all of a sudden, from the corner of my eye i see a figure walking towards me. i turn my body fully and see that it's y/n. God, she's pretty.

~ Y/N'S POV ~

i finally met up with johnny, and im not going to lie, the butterflies in my stomach were going crazy. if there's one thing about me though, its that im very good at not showing my feelings.

"hey johnny!" i said, "hey y/n, how are ya?" he said, smiling. that boy has the most beautiful smile ever. i smiled at his smile, "good johnnycake." i ruffled up his hair, like dallas does, and he smiled and looked down at me.

"i...i missed ya." he spoke, as we walked, me following his lead, wherever he was taking me. those words shocked me a little, "missed me? but we were together yesterday" i giggled. "oh yeah," he said, stuffing his hands in his pockets and looking down. i noticed a slight smirk on his face as he did so.

"so, where are we going exactly?" i said, looking at him. "oh, right, i haven't told ya. it's gettin' a little late, and i hope your folks won't mind me bringin' you home later than usual, but we're gonna go see the sunset" he smiled.

"oh my gosh!" i said, suddenly a chilly breeze swept across us. it was summer, but somehow 63 degrees felt like the mid 40s. shivers went down my spine, as the wind slightly blew me towards johnny, causing my body to gently collide with his.

"oops, sorry, i'm just a little cold." i muttered. he looked at me for a second, then didn't hesitate to take off his jacket. "here." he gave it to me. i took it, putting it on. his body heat was still on it, so it instantly made me feel warmer.

"thank you so much," i rubbed his arm. i don't know what got into me, i just feel flirtier than usual. "it's alright." he said.

we continued on the side walk, and crossed a road. after we crossed, we went back onto a sidewalk, and there were a couple of men smoking by a street pole. the street was a little isolated, with it being dark. as me and johnny walked down by them, they all started whistling and hollering obscenities at me.

"holy smokes, check out that bitch!"

"her ass looks good!"

i immediately link my arm with johnny.

what the fuck? when we walked past them, i turned around and gave them a nasty look. johnny mostly kept his head down the whole time, avoiding conflict. he probably knew he didn't have a chance against those 5 big guys.

"god! i can't stand men like that." i said, anger fueling me. "i know." he muttered to me. "can't they see i'm with you?" he quietly said in the same tone.

i looked at him, "exactly." he side eyed me.

our whole walk was mixed with glances and silence. it was a comfortable silence though, everything with johnny felt comfortable. even when i had gotten harassed earlier. i didn't feel that threatened by those guys because i had johnny right next to me.

finally, we made it. the place looked like a park, with tall hills around it. only a few people were here, walking around the park. me and johnny stopped when we reached the place, and looked at each other.

"come on!" johnny grabbed my hand, and started running up the hill. i tried to keep up, but tripped along the way, earning a few chuckles from johnny. finally, we made it up the hill. the sky was such a beautiful color—a perfect orange with a tint of pink. i looked at johnny as his eyes admired the view, scanning every inch of the sky.

he sure looked beautiful in this view. if i had to choose between the sky or johnny right now, i'd choose johnny. this is it, im going to tell him.

all of a sudden we turned to each other at the same time, wasn't sure what he was going to say, so i let him go first. "y/n,"

"mhm?"

he took both of my hands in his, and looked deep into my eyes. gosh, his eyes were sexy and seductive. how could someone be so cute and hot at the same time??

"i hope this isn't too early, but i assumed i was safe, because we've known each other for a while now, and, i just wanted to tell you that you're the most beautiful girl i've ever met in my life. from the first moment i laid eyes on you i felt something, and that something has grown bigger everytime i'd see you. i love you, y/n. will you be mine?"

my mouth fell agape at his words. johnny cade just confessed to me? i didn't know what to think, so instead, i brought his face in and kissed him. he held my waist and melted into the kiss, our lips meeting as one.

finally, out of breath, we parted. "of course i'll be yours johnny. i want to be yours forever." i said, practically jumping onto him, bringing him in for a hug.

"then i'll be yours forever." his voice rang into my ear.
