"You're torturing yourself not telling him Sophie, it's 3 days until Valentine's day. It's been a WEEK since I talked to Theo. You were supposed to tell him then."
"Emory, I will, soon, I promise. Just give me time," Sophie begged her friend.
The next couple days were excruciating for Sophie. She knew that she had to tell Draco about her feelings sometime soon, but couldn't find the right time.
That night when patrolling she tried to tell him twice, but the words just wouldn't come out. One of the times she was going to tell him, she noticed his shoe was untied and so she informed him of that instead.
'How bloody stupid can you be?' she thought to herself.
"Hey Draco," she started later that night. "I need to talk to you."
"About?"
She froze, "Potions, should I take it if I get enough OWLS."
"You'll get enough OWLS Sophie. You should take it, Slughorn's class is harder though."
The conversation went back to somewhat normal after that, Sophie joking that it was just because it was like he was Snape's little pet.
The next night went about the same way. She was about to talk to him, but then chickened out. After that though, they were almost entirely silent and went back to the common room early. Her stupidity was ruining their friendship and any chance of a relationship. At least that's what she thought.
Draco was feeling exceptionally awkward as well and thought that Sophie caught on. He had something planned for her and now had no idea how she would react. Theo had been telling him that it was cute the way she looked at him, so he thought it might be a sign or reciprocated feelings.
That night they both laid up, awake, overthinking everything.

The night before Valentine's day they were patrolling the halls together in silence, when Pansy approached them. It was right before they were heading back to the common room.
"Okay Drakey, I snap. I didn't think it would take you this long to break and come back to me. I know you don't actually like this bitch and I know there's no way in hell you would ever ask her to be your Valentine. I've already arranged plans for us in hogsmeade, you know where all the couples go," she started before turning to Sophie. "Look bitch go run off wherever you want to so the grown ups can talk, I'm sorry your relationship was fake, but you can go run to mummy about it."
Sophie tried to leave, but Draco grabbed her arm.
"Her 'mummy' could rip you in half with her bare hands Pansy, I wouldn't test shit. Not to mention, not that it's any of your business, but I like Sophie so much it's insane. She ignites something in me you never did. You were literally my only option to the Yule ball Pansy. Bloody hell we never even dated. You need to get it through your thick head, you don't mean shit to me, but Sophie does. Can you fuck off now?"
"Not until you two kiss," she said blatantly.
"What?"
"You heard me. Nobody has seen you kiss. Do it and I'll leave you alone for good."
Draco got closer to Sophie, staring in her eyes. They hadn't kissed yet and it wasn't part of the agreement. He gently whispered into her ear, asking for permission and she slightly nodded yes.
Sophie could feel Draco's breath on here for a mere second before their lips touched, but it wasn't a quick kiss. It was prolonged and full of passion on both ends. It didn't stop until finally Pansy audibly huffed and stormed off.
Sophie was completely frozen for a moment before she finally was bursting with feelings. So much so that she couldn't keep it inside any longer.
