"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!"
"OH MY GOSH DOI WHAT'S THE MATTER?!"
If only Robin didn't shook me awake then I might have died from that crazy nightmare. I looked around and was relieved to know I'm back in my room on my comfy bed. Outside, the noontime sun is shining high up in the sky. That dream I just had felt really realistic.
"Sweetie please tell me what happened," begged Robin, touching my face gently. "Did you had a nightmare? Jeez, you're sweating!"
"Yeah, I did had a bad dream, papa," I said.
"My gosh...can you tell me what happened in your nightmare?"
I explained everything that happened. After I was finished explaining, Robin sighed and moved nearer to me. He puts one of his arms around my back.
"I'm certain it's a possible warning," he said.
"What are you talking about?" I asked.
"Mages like you have more of their physic abilities," noted Robin. "At night, their dreams would either consist of actual future sightings or just bunch of normal dreams humans have."
Memories of growing up in the human world came back to me. Back then, I used to dreamt about being a yellow-skinned being going on adventures in a fantastical world, how I would battle against the enemies who seek to take my life away, and being accompanied by a green duck and a red mophead creature. All of those were, in fact, more of just dreams at night. Those were sightings of the future. I shivered.
"I hope whatever I've dreamt about earlier is just nonsense," I muttered.
"Yeah me too," agreed Robin.
Later, we went to the living room. Harry was there, watching the tv. I joined him because it was an interesting show. But as the villain was about to reveal the hero's secret to everyone, I got really mad.
"LEAVE HER ALONE YOU GREEDY MONSTER!" I shouted as I slammed my fists on the couch I'm sitting in.
All of a sudden, the tv went static. There were burnt marks on where I slammed my fists on. I got nervous.
"It's just a show, Manny," laughed Harry. "There's no need to get mad."
"Oop- sorry."
Right as I calmed down, the tv went back to normal. However, the burnt marks didn't vanish. After a few minutes, Robin walks in.
"I just caught a glimpse of Roy in the forest earlier," announced Robin.
"What is he doing here in the realm of critters?" questioned Harry.
"I'm just as clueless as you are, Harry."
"How come we always come across my real father but not see even a single shadow of my mother?" I asked.
"Judging by the situation, she's probably somewhere in the realm of unknown, protecting everyone from getting captured by you-know-who," said Robin. "But it's possible she left that realm to go and attempt to bring back her husband."
"Do you think she might have forgotten about Manny?" asked Harry.
"Forgotten? Nahh impossible! She loves her son so much that she hid evidences about Manny's existence to prevent you-know-who from finding out about the little boy and protect him as much as possible."
"How about we go visit my parents' house, the exact house we live in before we got invaded by the enemies?" I suggested. "Perhaps we could find some clues?"
"I don't know, Doi. The house is located in the realm of unknown. It's the hardest realm to get in. But if you're really desperate to get there, sure we'll do it," said Robin.
"How do we get into the realm of unknown?"
"Well there's a lot of things to consider. Imma go find the guide book about the 4 realms of Dehamis, I know I hid it somewhere," replied Harry, walking towards our newly set bookshelves.
We looked through the pages of the book and soon, we found the instructions about entering the realm of unknown. Robin and Harry are right. There are indeed lots of things to do before you can enter the realm. The road leading there have lots of obstacles, a few strange creatures and monsters, and more.
"Sacrifice an animal from the human world?! Why would they need that?" I questioned.
"The realm of unknown is home to beings that are considered mythical in the human world and hybrids whose parents came from separate realms," explained Robin. "And when I say 'mythical' creatures, the most powerful beings of the whole Dehamis also live there. Some of the residents there needs to collect stamina from the creatures found in the human world to gain enough energy."
"Speaking of powerful beings, I think we should be careful because the realm of unknown might be where you-know-who's hideout be since it's where he came from," added Harry.
"Don't worry, daddy. In the power of teamwork, we can do whatever trial life will throw to us!" I declared happily.
"Alright now let's start searching for 3 pairs of gousana gems that we'll use to make protective eyewear that'll prevent us from being blinded by the druptens. Those creatures are sometimes the reason why no outsiders dared to enter the realm of unknown," announced Robin.
"Where do we find one?" I asked curiously.
"Not to worry! The realm of critters is rich in supply for gousanas. But of course you wouldn't find them piled in a chest, you have to harvest for them."
Soon, all 3 of us went outside. Harry left his clones to look after our house. I was expecting us to enter a cave since that's where you usually find gems but I was wrong.
"I know gousanas are found deep underground. But in this realm, they can appear randomly in any type of tree with other types of gems, thanks to the enchantment of a kind witch from ancient times who did it as a gift to a cat, whom she fell in love with," explained Robin and glared at Harry, who was sniggering at what he said.
"How did she fell in love with a cat?" I asked. "Is it like her pet or something?"
"You know that stereotype about witches in the human world who keeps a black cat as a pet? Well technically, the kind of cat she has crush on is an anthropomorphic just like me now PLEASE FUCKING STOP LAUGHING IT'S NOT FUNNY AT ALL!"
Robin furiously smacks Harry in the head (well he jumped first because Harry's a lot taller than him). We then headed to a forest. What Robin said is true. I did see a few gems hanging with other fruits in the trees. But those gems varied in different colors and shapes and sizes. Now I'm left wondering, what does a gousana gem looks like?
"Gousanas may be clear and transparent but they only let a very limited amount of light through," noted Robin. "That's why we brought flashlights to be able to identify them."
After hours of searching, we got really tired. We only found 2 gousanas. It's really getting dark. Owls, fireflies, and few more nocturnal anthropomorphic animals were starting to go out of their homes to start their day...I mean night or whatever. My adoptive parents and I finally decided we head back home. I giggled as I heard Harry's stomach rumble like a thunder.
"Man, I feel really hungry," said Robin.
"Let's have dinner and we'll just continue tomorrow."
While we were eating, Robin decided that we'd have a picnic at the forest tomorrow. In that way, we wouldn't starve while we search for 4 more gousana gems. I didn't like the idea, I love it! Harry disagreed at first but eventually he started to side with me and Robin. My excitement prevented me from being able to fully fall asleep that night.
My very first picnic in a fantastical world! I can't wait! I thought as I looked at the moon outside the window. I really can't believe it!
Go to sleep now, sweetie I heard Harry's voice speak in my head.
I tucked myself on the bed, a huge smile on my face. After a while of thinking about our picnic tomorrow, I finally fell asleep.
