a great start

These animals seem quite friendly to me. But I still couldn't believe the butterfly is seemingly trying to adopt me even though I already have Robin and Harry. I only have 3 goals in life and that is to find my real parents, defeat you-know-who, and gain enough self confidence to become my very own personal hero.

"Uhh I wanna ask a question."

Shrignold looks at me. "What is it?"

"Perhaps you know anything about a certain woman who looks a bit like me?" I asked.

"Are you talking about your mom?"

I nodded. Shrignold flutters his wings and looks around.

"I kind of know your mother."

"Oh so maybe perhaps you know where she is? Have she been captured and manipulated just like her husband, my dad? Is she searching for me?"

"Hush, too many questions, my dear," Shrignold calmly said while holding my hand and leading me somewhere. "Would you like me to introduce you to my friends? You'll get to know them one by one soon and then the best part is you'll finally know who Malcolm is."

There are a lot more realm of critters residents in here but there are also those from the other realms. I have no idea what they're doing here or why are we even here or why was I brought here but I just went with the flow.

"In case I haven't told you earlier, this is a friendly club for lost, confused, and lonely beings like you," noted the butterfly. "Malcolm is the leader while I am his right hand assistant and I have the highest rank below him."

I couldn't get what he meant by lost, confused, and lonely. Soon, I knew about those who are just a rank lower than Shrignold. They are Benny, the cyan-colored rabbit, Usar, the orange unicorn, Franklin, the purple frog, and Doven, the dog-looking beaver creature or whatever. I noticed that those with really high ranks have more ability to have control over the club and make rules and stuff while those in the lower ranks are to do nothing but follow the rules and orders. I don't think this is just a club...

"I heard the rumors that you were The Destined Boy, is that true?" asked Shrignold.

I couldn't think of what to say so I just nodded. But I got even more confused as he brings me inside a room.

"Let me examine that thing on your neck."

The butterfly led me towards a mirror. There, I once again saw the mark on my neck that the brown furry thing gave me. I saw the exact things I saw the last time I've looked into a mirror, except instead of purple, my eyes were glowing orange and instead of the furry, Shrignold is next to me. It was so eerie.

"Do you want me to remove that thing?"

"Yes please," I said.

To my surprise, he bites the part of my neck where the symbol is. He seemingly sips like a mosquito except I don't feel quite some pain. After he was done, I looked back into the mirror and noticed the symbol is gone at last.

"How did you...?"

"Doesn't matter, let's just go outside," quoted Shrignold as he pulls me out of the room. "The others are waiting for you."

"Why are they waiting for me?" I asked curiously.

"Because soon, we'll be starting a fun game and you'll be the special guest."

I stimmed out of excitement. "I LOVE GAMES!"

We went to the main hall. For some reason, I was the only low-ranked member there. They were all gathered in a huge circle so I decided to sit among them as well.

"To play this game, we whisper something at the person on our right side and then hear what the person on your left side whispers to you," explained Shrignold. "You can tell him anything, your nickname, your favorite food, your birthday, your deepest secrets...but of course you can ask questions too. But if you were asked a question, continue the pattern. Tell the answer of that question to the person at your right, not to the left. Alright, understand?"

We all said yes so the game finally started. Benny, who was at my left side, leaned towards me and whispered "did your so-called real parents left you behind when you were a baby?"

That sounds really personal but I decided to tell the answer to my another seatmate, Doven.

"My real parents didn't leave me behind. They have to bring me away to safety when we got invaded by enemies."

I watched as the others continued the pattern. Benny once again whispers something to me.

"When I was just a little bunny, I threw my younger brother at a lake and I got in trouble because he almost drowned but he survived anyway."

I leaned over to Doven and whispered him my favorite color and just waited for Benny. Most of the things that were whispered to me are questions and only few were random statements. But what's more suspicious to me is that Shrignold was listing something down on a piece of paper in front of me. Most of the time after Usar whispers something to him, he writes on the paper. I don't know what he's listing down or why he's doing it but I just shrugged it off.

After the game, I was instructed to go play with other members that are in the same rank as mine. But my suspicion was so high that I decided to peak behind me for a while to see where the high-ranked members were heading to. Shrignold and the others just simply headed to a meeting room. But since I have the belief that watching someone hold a meeting when you're not supposed to is a crime so I just went to play with the others.

Something I noticed about this world is that nighttime doesn't seem to exist or whatever. I couldn't tell how much time has passed. Like I've said before, it feels like a fever dream. Whether Robin and Harry were wondering where I was gone and what took me so long or they just went off to find me or someone went and killed them or they just headed home without me, I don't know anymore what happened to them. Worse is, I can't find any device around here that'll allow me to see what's going on outside this dimension so all I can just do now is wonder and wonder.

There's more I've realized. Hunger wasn't a thing here. It's been a long time since I've last eaten, which is at the picnic, and it seems I still don't feel hungry. But despite that, I miss knowing what food tastes like. Everyone were forbidden to eat because one, we never get hungry, second, we might eat each other, and third, food doesn't exist here.

Just like any organizations you'd encounter, this club also have their own uniforms but we're allowed to wear it only for important ceremonies. Well, there's only about one or two ceremonies that happen here. I dunno if there's more. Shrignold brought me to a wardrobe to show me the uniform I'd need to wear during a ceremony. To my shock, the uniforms look similar to what the cultists wore in my nightmare. But I just discarded that thought and decided it's just perhaps an eerie coincidence.

"Another ceremony's about to happen soon and I'm excited to see you in this robe and I'm sure Malcolm would be really glad to meet you at last," said Shrignold.

"This is a question from long time ago that you haven't answered yet," I replied. "Who's Malcolm...wait you've answered that one already...but I have another question, what does Malcolm look like?"

"Hey good question! I'll bring you to him."
