she'd let him stay over in a room far from where she was staying. she didn't know why she let him stay. she continuously was wishing he had left by then, but was only welcomed to the sound of the ocean entering the home. the smell of salt being subtle. shuffling on her feet, she peeked from the hallway to see the male sitting on the steps of the deck. even though it was cold, she made her way as quietly as she could over to him.
sitting beside him at a safe distance, it felt like those scenes in kdramas of the characters sitting fairly far from each other, but close enough to acknowledge each other's existence. "good morning." his low voice sent more chills down her spine. she nodded in response, unconcerned on if he was looking at her or not.
she too did this often, sitting with her legs pushed up to her chest as she looked off. the wind scratched at her bare legs, making her shake from the cold. she should really head back inside, but she didn't want to. she always debated on the chances of her death happening from simply sitting around doing nothing.
"i thought you'd be gone." she muttered, closing her eyes and resting her chin on her knees. "but i wasn't," why was he being like this? "is it that surprising that i'd still be here?" it was, it really really, really, was. it was hard enough to have him around for so long. his presences left a hole in her stomach.
feeling something drop on her head, she yelped and pulled it off. it was the lee's jacket that he'd been wearing. turning to face where he originally was, it seemed like he had closed the screen door when he left, making sure it was clear the door was still open for her whenever she wanted back in. her lips formed a straight line, almost unsure if she should accept the jacket. but it was so cold, and it was already there.
pulling it on, she didn't realize how thin her frame had gotten. she was taller than him, yet the jacket seemed giant on her. the sleeves dragging and slightly fell off her shoulders. it was warm, and nice. it smelt like him too. god. why did he have to give her this?
she didn't know why he had to appear in her life like this. why like this? he was such an asshole to her, and now he's acting like he's this cool and unbothered peace of shit. maybe it wasn't a shocker than she had gotten thin. maybe the other just was already bigger than her in difference of each other's frames.
