It's only day two and I'm already giving up on finding her. Hanging out with the popular kids doesn't benefit me in any way. They only hang out with people who are as arrogant and annoying as they are and on top of that my dearest Mr. Kim is always after me, like it's so easy to find the person I'm looking for within one day. I hate it. Why didn't I get any more glues than that?

"Agust D!" My dearest Ji-ah yelled and waved at me. I should have run away as soon as the lesson ended. I thought to myself and forced a smile to seem like I was happy to see her, I wasn't. She signaled me to come down and I almost groaned in annoyance.

I threw my backpack over my shoulder and sauntered down the stairs to her. "Hi Mr. Popular, do you want to grab some lunch today?" Jai-ah asked, probably because I had turned down her offer yesterday. I was about to turn down her offer once again but then I saw Mr. Kim was eyeing me from behind Ji-ah and her friend group. Ain't no way that I'll have to hear his whining about how I'm failing my mission. I thought to myself and slowly nodded to Ji-ah while still keeping an eye on him.

She started jumping up and down from joy and like I had nodded to him, Kim started walking towards me. I quickly took Ji-ah's hand and started walking towards the cafeteria with her. "I still haven't been to the school's cafeteria. Let's go there?" I asked her and peeked back to see if Kim was following me, but he wasn't. He was just standing there like a statue looking at me angrily. I looked forward, ignoring him. Like he'd ever understand how hard it was to look for someone to replace her.

We entered the cafeteria and all of a sudden this crowded place was formed perfectly to make way for Ji-ah and her friends. "Why are they giving up their place in line for us?" I whispered to one of the football players but Ji-ah heard me and answered instead of him: "What do you mean why Mr. Popular? We are as popular in this school as you are, that's why." I frowned and looked at the people who were quickly making way for us like scared puppies.

"If you are popular, aren't people supposed to be all around you, not avoiding you like a plague and making way for you?" Ji-ah burst out laughing at what I had said, making me more confused. What reversed popularity admiring is going on here? "They wouldn't dare to touch me since my daddy built half of the school." Ji-ah said, taking the food tray. "One wrong move and they are out of the school." Her minion added and went after her. I was shocked, so everything was bought with money here, they were no better than public school people. Everything still revolves around money.

All the others took their food trays before me and as I took mine I made eye contact with one of the people in front of whom we had cut in line. He looked at me disappointed and that's when I noticed him wearing my merch. I quickly looked away from him and kept walking forward with my food tray. I'm a shitty person.

I couldn't help but feel bad about everything. Why didn't I choose to be friends with that quiet kid like Kim had told me to. Within one day I have already turned into a person I promised myself to never be.

I didn't feel like eating so against my will I took a bowl of soup and walked after others with it.

"We'll show you our table, where you can always sit with us." Ji-ah said happily, holding my hand like we were a couple, I couldn't shake it off either or my bowl of soup would fall so I just sauntered alongside her.

"Yo, someone is sitting there already." One of the football players said and took a couple of steps forward to see who it was. He stopped not far from us and we walked after him to see who was sitting at "their table".

"Is it blue?" The boy asked from us and as we stood next to him and now I saw her too. She was sitting behind a big round table with her friend Min-hu, looking anxious like she had been waiting for us.

"What a nice surprise." Ji-ah muttered sarcastically, finally letting go of me.
