Sunday. No one was really meant to work on a Sunday. And yet that was precisely what a few hundred agents were doing on a cold morning. Throughout the weekend, there were a few blissful moments. Alessandra was able to spend time with her baby. The only problem was, her files were at work, and she was at home. So, with no respect for her greasy hair, baby powder was poured into it, and the main issue was hidden as she tapped out the blatant white patches. Her clothes were left, other than the jumper she pulled on over what she was wearing and then shoes were pulled on.

Then the car was climbed into. Each step felt like a battle as she prepared herself and then her baby, who would subsequently make a mess and undo the work she had put in. Once out of the car, however, a new battle began. Finding the will to enter her work building, and finding her identity card. Next was Ellamae, who was carefully rolled around as her body wrap was tied, and her chunky, excited feet kicked from joy as she waited to be laid against her mother.

When inside, the lift was taken to the fifth floor, but just as the doors were closing, a hand was seen smacking against the side as someone fought to get into the lift as soon as they could. It was Hotch. Of course, it was Hotch, Alessandra thought. Much the same, Hotch was mentally berating himself for not waiting or for not calling the next lift. Why was he suddenly running into her all the time? 'I assume this is your baby,' Hotch commented awkwardly and immediately regretted it.

'No, I stole her from a random woman on the street. She was a lot prettier than mine,' she commented sarcastically, quietly rocking the baby, who was suddenly softening her eyes as her head was slowly falling.

'Where is her dad now if you've been forced to bring her into work? What is her name?' Hotch suddenly asked, not sure what had come over him.

'I asexually produced Ellamae, so she doesn't have a dad,' Alessandra quipped as the lift doors opened, and she stepped out quickly.

'Noble?' Hotch unexpectedly called, and slowly, she turned to face him with an arched brow and tired eyes. 'How long are you going to be here for?' Hotch asked before he could even explain to himself why.

'A couple of minutes,' she replied quickly, but when he tilted his head and stared at her, his arm against the lift doors as he stopped them closing, she felt like she had to tell the truth. 'Until I write up a few notes. A couple of hours at most,' she assured him, and once she had spoken, he stepped out of the lift and stood beside her.

'We can work together. I already have my files and laptop. I just need a plug socket. This way, you can help me make sure the documents are written correctly,' Hotch murmured as they arrived at her door.

They ended up spending the whole day together, and other than a few comments about her thoughts on his presentation of work, neither of them said anything. Instead, they both glowered from time to time. Alessandra sat and saw him, knowing exactly what he was up to. He was going to be maliciously compliant, and she did not look forward to the outcome of that.

After a few days had passed, the BAU was working on a case, and Alessandra realised she hadn't recently received any emails or legal requests from Hotch himself. A few came from team members, and they were done correctly, which could have made her cry, but none from him. After another passing day, she walked into the office, checked any outstanding requests and then stepped out to meet Mariah, who was still hung over from the night before. Spencer had been shot in the knee. Hotch should have been the one to fill in requested papers, and yet Strauss had done it. Mariah and Alessandra had gone out, but Alessandra still couldn't drink, meaning only one was hung over. 'Hey, what's up with Hotchner?' She asked curiously.

'You didn't hear? He got stabbed. In his apartment too. Luckily he doesn't live with his ex-wife and son. Hey,' she admitted, and Alessandra nodded slowly before her mind caught up with what she'd just been told.
