The Rhone was doomed to wreck,
Fear seized the crew in their deck,
Crew desperate for a way out,
Yet safety flew without a shout.
Enginemen heard an awful noise,
Which extinguished their hope's glooms,
The Rhone teetered on its side,
And darkness blanketed the ride.
