Gina huffed, pinching herself━her finger kept getting stuck between the gap on the wall and the staple gun, but she was finding it hard to concentrate on putting up posters.

"Ow!" she yelped aloud, pinching herself again. Then, she almost jumped out of her skin, screaming, "Ah!" Nini's face appeared right next to hers. She didn't even hear her walking up the corridor. "Oh, my god..."

"Sorry," Nini chuckled. "I didn't mean to scare you."

"You came out of nowhere, Nina..."

Just a few moments ago, Gina had walked past Nini helping Lily put up another stack of posters in the classrooms further down the hall. Now, she was standing right in front of her━abandoning her own stack of posters, and Lily, apparently, stood in front of her with a wide smile on her face. Like, something extraordinary had happened to her.

"Are you okay?" Nini asked, and she grabbed her staple gun. Gina clutched it, not wanting to let go, but she could tell Nini only wanted to help. And, she wasn't sure if it was the right time to start a fight. "These things are a little tricky. You gotta be careful, you don't wanna pick your fingers."

"Yeah," Gina said, watching as Nini stuck her last poster on the bulletin board for her. She watched as the older girl grabbed another from the pile she had in her hands, stapling the next poster to the wall. "Don't you have your own stack to finish?" she asked, and she realized it sounded a lot crueler than she intended when Nini's smile faded.

"Nope," Nini said, shrugging. "I'm all finished."

"Sure you haven't just left it all for someone else?"

Nini stopped stapling posters. She dropped her hands, so they were by her sides━the same way she did when she was nervous. Except, she wasn't nervous. She held a large, unsafe staple gun. Her eyebrows were furrowed. She looked her straight in the eyes. And, she was unflinching and bold when she asked, "Is something wrong?"

Gina thought about telling her. But, she wasn't certain that she knew. "No..."

"Good," Nini chuckled. "'Cause I was hoping that...if you aren't busy, you could come over to my house after we're done here?"

"Your house?"

"Yeah." She turned back to the bulletin board, stapling another poster. "I mean, I've still got a lot of work to do...we've still got to figure out how many hearts we need to order. And, Ashlyn sent me a few songs for the dance playlist and I could use some help listening...it's been a while since I listened to songs instead of writing them."
