After heavy rain in autumn, the moats are filled with water.
Winter arrives sooner this year. The water in moats have frozen solid. Strong enough for adults to walk.
Shao Yang tramples a man under his foot. He knows a spy when he sees one. The guy shrieks and begs for mercy.
After the last raid failed, Barbarians have sent some spies into the city. They pretend to trade with the locals.
"Speak! Where is the rest of the tribe?"
"Long live the tribe!"
The spy died under tortures. He never snitch on his tribe.
Shao Yang sighs. He lowers down his head.
They are enemies.
He still respected a loyal man. He grabs a shovel and digs a grave for the spy.
Shao Yang killed any spy that tried to infiltrate their kiln. The tribe must send him to sabotage it.
Fei must adds more guards to his kiln.
After he buried the man, Shao Yang goes to practice his martial arts.
He snatched a saber from a Barbarian in the last raid. It's sharp enough for him.
After two hours, Shao Yang wipes his sweats away. He orders his tribesmen to guard the kiln. He goes back home to change his clothes.
Lately he has been patrolling town with soldiers. He is feeling restless. Like calm before storm.
He only went home when Fei comes to pick him up.
Some Barbarians sneak in and open city gate at dusk. They manage to kill the guards.
A soldier at bell tower has spotted them. He rings a bell to warn everyone.
An arrow killed him on spot.
Shao Yang grabs his saber and dashes out of the house.
The male slaves follow him with any kind utensils used as weapons. From shovels, pitchforks to hoes.
Women armed themselves with butcher knives, pans and other cooking utensils. They stay behind to protect homes.
Children have rushed ahead to hide in nearest underground bunkers. There are several of them build all over town and villages.
It's part of their military trainings.
The Barbarians cross the frozen moats easily. They use grapples to climb up.
Raiders gallop their horses to the city using the fallen gate.
Shao Yang and others fought bravely. They hack and slash their foes.
Their enemies are stronger by nature. The civillians and soldiers fought together to repel them.
The moonlight shine upon them.
Fei strolls in total leisure mode. He avoids a sword aimed at him. He leaps and kicks down a Barbarian from his horse.
He punches and snatches the weapon from him. He slashes his foe right on his throat.
The blood spurts out doesn't seem to scare him.
Fei still maintains his smile as if nothing happened. He manages to avoid any blood spilled to his clothes.
Three minutes.
Fei shakes his head. His skills are getting rusty. It took him this long to slay a foe.
He picks up a bow and few quivers of arrows from fallen soldiers.
He dashes and climbs up nearest rooftop.
Yang Yang squints his eyes.
Unknown Archer has been aiding him just now. Some raiders are shot dead. One arrow, one foe.
Yang Yang shrugs his shoulders and keeps on fighting.
These men are his enemies. They robbed and killed his tribesmen in the past.
Fei smirks. The young Barbarian is a brutal fighter. One slash, one kill. He is stronger than his looks.
He aims and takes down another Barbarian raider.
The fight is almost over. There are too many casualties from their enemies.
Fei jumps down from the roof. He throws down his bow and arrows. He hits his shirt to clean up some dusts.
Done. Now I need to go back home. Pretend I just came out from my hiding. I'm a good for nothing weakling. Just another prodigal son.
After three hours raid, the Barbarians pull back. They only manage to loot little and suffer a lot of casualties.
The fallen gate has been fixed.
On his way home, Fei passes his business. He frowns when he sees the damages. Some of his shops have been ransacked. His goods are lost.
Damn Barbarians! I'm losing money here!
Some slaves died in the raid. Others are wounded.
Fei shakes his head. He needs to buy new slaves again. He looks to south direction.
It's time to expand my business. I can't put all my money here in this town. It's too dangerous. I could loose everything in a successful raid.
Shao Yang inhales a deep breath. He lost count of his kills.
His tribesmen manage to defend the kiln from harm. It's their bloodline to build city walls.
They have returned home.
Fei tilts his head when Shao Yang takes off his bloody clothes.
He asks, "Are you injured?"
"No. Not my blood."
Shao Yang uses wet cloth to wipe away the blood.
Fei closes his eyes.
Damn Barbarian! All those muscles! Why you have to be straight?
Yang Yang has everything he dreamed about a gong. Strong muscular body. Handsome face. Perfect Manly tool.
Only one problem.
Big problem.
He is straight.
Fei knows a straight guy when he sees one.
Yang Yang rubs Fei on his head when he is frowning deeply. He knows the loss on the shops.
He comments, "Don't think too much. Sometimes it's unavoidable to eat losses."
Fei grins.
This guy is just too perfect. I need to bend him. If only Qing Su is here. He will know what to do. I want Yang Yang to be mine. Only mine.
They eat supper in silence. Sometimes they glance at each others quietly. They look away when their gazes accidentally meet.
Fei decides to write to Qing Su. Asking for a suggestion.
His friend should know how to bend a straight man.
Shao Yang looks at the moon above. It has been months. Wondering when he will become a real man. When his Wifey will let him top him.
