Fei leaves after the First Wife glares at him. He is passing through backyard when he pauses.
A maid is cleaning up a pot of medicine. One of the herbs look suspicious enough.
Fei grabs her hand and stops her from disposing the evidences.
"Ouch! You are hurting me! How dare you!"
"Who boiled the medicine?"
"Ms. Wang Shi."
"Why are you still here?" asks a Lady from behind them.
First Wife heard the commotion. She has followed Fei to prevent him from staying any longer.
The Concubine son enters and leaves through back door. Like an ordinary lowly servant in this Manor.
Fei shows her the herb.
"I found this grass in the bunch of herbs boiled as Dage's medicine."
"What about it?"
"This grass has lethal effect if consumed in long run. Lower stamina. Lesser body immunity. If Dage..."
The First Wife frowns. She slaps hard the maid.
She asks, "Why did you harm my son?"
The maid kneels immediately. Her body is shivering.
She isn't afraid of Fei, the illegitimate son. Madame could easily kill a slave like her. No question asked.
The First Wife slaps again.
The maid pleads, "Madame, I know nothing. Ms. Wang Shi only ordered me to clean up the medicine pot."
The First Wife grits her teeth.
Wang Shi is her personal maid. She has followed her back from her maiden family when she first married General Wang.
The only person she trusted to boil medicines for her son.
The First Wife storms in her path to seek vengeance.
Wang Shi got subdued and tortured for an hour before she confessed everything.
