Kim Yoohyeon POV

Today I fell asleep at 5am and woke up at 7am because I still need to attend for my 2nd day of work.

Even though I don’t have enough sleep, I was kind of happy, energetic. I'm not sure why I was feeling happy but I am really happy.

I arrived at work. Everyone else that were already at our workplace started to greet me once they saw me arriving here and of course, I greeted them back with a brighter smile than ever.

I also noticed Gahyeon was sitting beside me. “Good morning, Gahyeon-ah!” I greeted her cheerfully.

“Yeah, good morning.” She said in monotone voice while typing something on the computer.

I also noticed the blazer that I hung around my chair is gone.

I figured that the Lady Boss took her blazer away before everyone else came here.

“You seem in a good mood today.” I heard Gahyeon spoke, still in her monotone voice. “Yeah, and you seem in a not-good-mood.” I replied. She then just shrugged. “Not that I am not in the good mood, I am too busy to be in a good mood.” She said. I didn’t realize Gahyeon was wearing glasses. She looks very different…I hardly could recognize her.

“Let me guess, your Boss gave you another set of tasks?” I said. She stopped typing and looks at me emotionless.

“You mean OUR boss. Well, you’re right. She gave me tasks but I can’t complain it anyway…” She started typing again. “As long the salary is good, I don’t complain.” She said, maintain her smart casual look.

“Ah I see…”

“What about you, unnie? How was your first day of work?” She asked, her eyes was still glued to the screen. Wow, she is such a hardworking kid.

I looks at her, rubbing my neck. “I would say it was not really that good. But she gave me a lot of tasks that are impossible to complete all in one day.”

“What kind of tasks?” She asked.

“The tasks was originally the former Secretary’s but she told me to finish everything before at the end of the day.” I answered and she suddenly stopped typing and looks at me while raising her eyebrows.

“I guess the rumour might be true. Lady Boss used to date with the former Secretary.” She whispered to me, like she’s scared that the lady Boss might hear her.

“If they date before, why was she firing the former secretary?”

And then, the door from Minji’s office suddenly opened. The two of us quickly pretending that we are actually doing work and not talking. Gahyeon was typing loudly while I was reading a file that was placed already in front of me when I got here, which I didn’t realize it was upside-down.

Minji quickly stepped out from her office. She didn’t really say anything. She was only staring at us, and suddenly, she started walking away faster, as if she was rushing going somewhere else. Weird… where is she going?

Gahyeon then pulled the file away from me. “What are you doing? Even the file you were holding was upside-down.” She pointed it out, adjusting the file so that it would be right facing me and she placed it back on my desk. “It’s can’t be helped. I was too nervous that I thought she would caught us slacking here.” I said.

“Well, you are right. She won’t let the slackers go. But anyway, let’s bring back the topic that we were talking just now.” She suddenly keep her voice low.

“Yeah, why was she firing the former secretary? Did she slack or do something that bring this company a bad reputation?

She shook her head. No?

“Not really, our former secretary worked so hard to bring this company success. And you know what happened next?”

I quickly shook my head. Of course I don’t know.

“I heard the former secretary had an affair with her younger sister.” She said and that’s make me Jungshook. “WHAT? SHE HAS A SISTER!??” I accidentally shouted as I quickly stand up. Everyone were looking at me weirdly.

I bowed to them and apologize. I lied to them that there was a bug on my desk. They thought that I was saying the truth, so they just shrugged it off and smiling at me while I slowly sat back on my work chair.

Wow, that’s was embarrassing.

“Keep your voice down unnie. Luckily, Lady Boss is not in the office. If not, you are in a big trouble.” She said and I weakly nodded. Why did I suddenly shout? That was embarrassing. I wish I could turn back the time.

“So, she has a sister? I thought you said she is an only child.” I asked her curiously. It was true, she did told me Minji is an only child before the day of my interview.

“She is an only child. But her dad passed away a long time ago. So her mum remarried with her step-dad and her step-dad has a child a few years younger than her. I think around your age.” She explained which make me surprised. How come she know about all that stuff? I thought the lady boss doesn’t open herself up to the others.

“How did you know that lady Boss has a step-sister?” I raised my eyebrows while asking her.

“I followed her on Instagram.” A cold-hearted Boss like her even has social media?

I was about to ask Gahyeon to show me the Instagram page of that boss. But as if she read my mind, she picked up her phone and showed me the Instagram page of the cold-hearted boss.

Oh god, she has 1M followers more than me???

“6M followers??? How? Mine is only 5M. How does she had this much followers??” I asked her shockingly. I didn’t know she was that popular.

“Don’t you know? Her ancestors was a royal. She has a royal blood in her. That’s why she came from an extremely wealthy family. She own her very expensive car, her mansion which cost only a 5 billion won and even this company. And she actually started staying in her own mansion at the age of 16 all alone. She doesn’t even invite her friends to come over to her house.”

“Wow…daebak (amazing).” Damn, she’s so rich. I'm jealous.

“If she didn’t invite her friends, then does that mean she only let her family to come over.” I asked again. Damn, I feel like I started knowing all about this Kim Minji just through Gahyeon. She seems to know everything about her.

“The only family she invited was her late dad. She despises her mum a lot, as well as her step-dad and step-sister. Look.” She showed me Minji’s Instagram again, scrolling the page to the very bottom.

It was her first post with a picture of her and a man. It’s must be her late dad. The post was shown that it was taken 14 years ago.

“She was 13 at that time. Her dad created Instagram account for her so that she could post whatever she wants. She only post some pictures of her with her late dad. But her mum, no.” She’s right. When I scrolled up to see another of her old photos, there was not a single photos of her and her mother.

Then I saw a black picture with a words written on it. It was a farewell message to her dad.

So her biological dad died 11 years ago...I feel bad for her. She was so lucky to have a good dad like him. My dad was just a good-for-nothing bastard who is a drug addict and because of him, I had to worked so hard to clear his debts.

I decided to look through her latest posts. Her very latest post was just 3 days ago and she was posing like a model. Her outfits were all black including that black beanie. Her caption was totally opposite than her personality. It was cute. I couldn’t help but chuckled.

One embarrassing word suddenly slipped through my mouth. “Cute.” I quickly covered it. I didn’t realize it was slipping out. Gahyeon was staring at me intensely. “What did you say?”

“I said she’s cool.” I lied, but luckily she think I was saying the truth.

“I know right. She’s so cool. She has a perfect fashion sense. I wish I have money to buy this outfit she was wearing. But too bad, all the outfits she wore cost over 10 million won.” She said and stared at Minji’s photos sadly. I didn’t replies but only nodding my head slightly.

“If she’s that rich, why did she decided to travel by train?” I didn’t realize I was talking out loud.

“What did you say?” I looks at Gahyeon and shook my head. “Nothing.” I lied but my mind couldn’t stop thinking about the moment we first met at the train.

Kim Minji POV

Here I am, my family house. I stood by my car, staring at the home that I used to stay throughout my childhood.

It’s been so long since I came here. The last time I came here was my father’s funeral.

Mother called me for some family’s meeting. It was the very first time she called me since  father’s funeral. So I quickly rushed here even though I still got a works to do at my company.

Why can’t she just call me during weekend when it was my off day? But all of my off day, why she decided to call me during weekdays when I supposed to help my clients to do something else.

I let out my heavy sigh and take off my sunglasses.

But whatever meeting we having, I hope it’s worth my time. I just need to get this over with and go back to my safe haven-I mean my office.

Upon reaching the entrance of my family’s mansion, I was greeted by one of my family’s housemaid.

“Good morning, Lady Minji. How are you?” She asked. I stared at her with my poker face. “I’m fine. Where are mother and father?” I coldly asked. I really hate coming back here. That’s why I didn’t show any emotion even though this place was my home.

“Lady Taeyeon and Master Minho are in the dining hall.” She answered. I can tell her eyes were looking at my handbag. “Do you want me to-”

I quickly shrugged her off. “No, I’m fine carrying it myself.” I said and started walking into my family mansion.

My maid was insisting to guide me to the dining hall. But of course I turned her down. Despite me coming from a wealthy family, I am not some kind of spoiled brat that usually asking their maid to accompany them. I’m fine on my own anyway. That’s the way I am. I preferred going alone than having someone to guide me in.

I have finally arrived outside my dining hall. In there was 3 familiar figures; mother, step-father and step-sister.

Oh, it’s been years since I last saw them. Though I met my step-sister just recently…

And she think she can pretend to be innocent when she did awful things behind my back.

When I entered the hall, mother noticed my present. She then alerts the two of them.

Mother stood up. Looking at me up and down, making a teary-facial expression as she started walking toward me.

Don’t be dramatic, mother. I know you hate me since I was born. The only one that truly love me was  my blood father.

“Minji-yah…is that really you? Omo, you had grown up to be a beautiful woman…” She was going to hug me but I quickly push her away. I know she just pretend to be nice to me.

“Minji, don’t behave like that. She’s your mother.” Father said as he too stood up.

And you are not my father. I wanted to say this to him, but if I say that, he would hit me. I just stared at him until my ‘sister’, Lee Yubin, broke the silence.

“Minji unnie, it’s been so long since you met father and mother. Come sit with us.” I stared at Yubin coldly, not that I don’t want to interact with her. I just hate talking to someone I really hate.

I do what she said and sat at the very far end of the table.

“You know, unnie. You shouldn’t sat that far. It’s only just the four of us.” Yubin said as she scratched her nape.

“Well, I preferred sitting alone.” I said and crossed my legs .

“Minji, don’t be a brat. Sit closer. Sit in front of your sister.” She’s not my sister. Who do he think he is?? He's not even my blood-father who could lecture his daughter.

I almost let out a huge groan and decided to make a move.

And here I am, sitting in front of Yubin even though I don’t want to look at her.

I just crossed my arms and staring elsewhere.

“You haven’t change, dear…you are still the same Minji as I know before.” Mother was the first one to broke the silence. I didn’t replies to her of course, I was just staring at her.

“You stayed at the house that your father bought when you were only 16 years old. Ever since that day, you didn’t contact us and Yubinnie was the only one that contacted you all these years.” I stared at her silently. “And I heard from Yubin that you had managing your father’s company.”

“It’s not my father’s company. It’s a company he gifted it to me for my birthday 11 years ago.” I spoke. That’s true, father gave me this company for my birthday before he passed away. But I started this MJ Luxury Corporation company 5 years ago.

It’s was actually the best birthday present I ever had. I actually enjoyed managing my company.

“Oh, I see. And you love your company?” Why is she asking me a stupid question? Of course I love my company, they are the reason it keep me going.

“So, the reason why you asked me to come here so that you can ask me if I love my company?” I asked, crossing my arms over my chest.

“Of course not, honey. After all these missing years with you, I was wondering how were you coping up without us in your presence.”

“I’m fine on my own, mother. I am not longer a kid, you know.” I replied to her coldly. I asked one of my servant to pour me a drink and she did. I gulping it in one go. Looking at my family making me so stress. Why the heck did I agree to meet them?

My mother chuckled which make me irritated. “You sound just like your father.” I ignored her and asked my servant to refill my drink. “And you are a heavy drinker too.”

“Drinking 2 ounce of wine make me a heavy drinker? I don’t drink that much when I have works to do later on.” I said before I sip my wine. The taste of that wine was lingering on my tongue. I sighed.

“I am right, you even think just like your father. You have grown up so fast, Minji.” Urgh…can she please stop saying that I am like my father? I just want to get this meeting done over with.

“By the way, I also heard from Yubinnie that you recently broke up with that bitch. Hmm…her name is Handong, right?” I stopped sipping my wine as I quickly giving a death glare at Yubin. Why did that brat told mother about???

“That’s right, dating a girl doesn’t suit you too well. After all, you are a young beautiful woman, Minji-yah. You should better date a well-manner man rather than dating someone with same sex.” She said and I swear to God I was going to hit my glass at her!!

What dating with a fucking man have to do with breaking up with HER???

“It none of your business, mother. You can’t decide my future.” I told her as I stood up from my seat.

“I have a right to decide your future. I am your mother. You should obey me.” She said, also standing up and I gave her a death piercing gaze.

“Enough, you two. You can’t fight when there are food labelled out in front of you.” My step-father spoke.

We both sighed and sat back our seats. Yubin was calling me but I decided to ignore her. What’s good to talk to her when she did something behind my back?

The lunch was surprisingly quiet. It’s not that I care anymore. I just eat a bit of steak and after that, I became full. I don’t have any appetite to eat, especially when my family is in front of me.

Once the lunch finally over, the servants quickly grabbed all the empty plates including the plates with some leftovers on it.

Mother suddenly placed a photo in front of me. I glanced at the photo. It was a photo of a man with black suit. Why did mother suddenly showed me a photo of a man?

“His name is Suho. I want you to marry him.” I look at her shocked. I quickly stood up and slammed the table. There is not how I imagine my married life would be. I can’t possibly marry him. I barely even knew him.

“Me? Marry someone I don’t even know…?” I chuckled sarcastically. “This is a joke, mother.”

“This is not a joke, Minji. This is a reality and you need to face it. And I am your mother after all. I have the right to decide your future.”

She has the right to decide my future? That’s why I do despise mother so much. Why can’t she let her daughter being freed? She’s never change...even when father left us…

And then I heard a knock from the door of the dining hall.

“Oh, he's finally here. Amanda, please open the door.” Mother called out one of the maid. “Yes, m'lady.” When she opened the door, my breathing stopped as a familiar man entered the hall.
---

AISH DAMMIT!!! THIS IS FUCKING ANNOYING!!!

I stormed into my office and slammed the door shut. (And yes, I came back to my company, and I’m sure all my subordinates especially ‘her' saw me entering my office in frustration.) I can’t be helped since I am so stress!

Dammit! Why is this happening to me? Why me? Why didn’t she chose Yubin, her favourite daughter to marry that man? And instead, she chose me.

I sat on my couch and ruffled my hair violently. I suddenly felt headache.

I slowly stood up and went to my purse. I pulled out a bottle of pill. It was my headache medicines.

But it was almost half empty.

I then grabbed an empty cup, pouring a plain water in it. As I did that, I poured all the pills into my mouth and started drinking it before I began to swallow all of it.

Yeah, this should do it for now. Hopefully I will not get any headache later on. I still got some works to do.

I sighed and sat back on my couch as I slowly rubbed my temple while closing my eyes.

Kim Yoohyeon POV

I was taken a back when I saw the lady boss suddenly walking into her office and slammed the door.

What happened to her? Was she in her bad mood?

I couldn’t stop worrying about her. Wait, why did I suddenly worried about someone that is not close with me?

I heard all my subordinates were whispering about lady boss.

“Do you think lady boss is okay?”Jungkook asked.

“I don’t know she look like she’s in a bad mood.” Naeun answered.

“Aren’t she’s always in a bad mood every day?” Jiwoo then asked.

“Maybe, the restaurant that she ate doesn’t taste too good.” Taehyung said.

“I mean she is a high ranking noble. She has a highest standard when it comes eating wealthy food.” Sooyoung next to said.

I didn’t speak anything. I was listening to their conversation.

“What do you think about this, Yoohyeon?” All my subordinates stared at me when Jiwoo asked me.

“I don’t know…it’s just my 2nd day of work...” I said. To be honest, I am really worried about her.

“That’s right, we can’t ask someone who barely started working in this company.” Then all my subordinates started nodding their heads, agreeing what Taehyung was saying.

I looks at Gahyeon and Gahyeon just shrugged her shoulder. She, too, don’t know what happening to lady boss.

-

After finishing my tasks, I started stretching my arms over my head and as well as stretching my legs as I stood up. I had been sitting in the same place for hours. And I think all my subordinates including Gahyeon already left 3 hours ago while I was still in the office, doing my task.

Damn, working in the business industry was tiring than working as an actress and model. I have to work from morning to night 2 days straight because of so many tasks given by Lady Boss.

I glanced at my wristwatch and it was 9pm. Oh shit, I need to go home now.

I was about to pack my bag when I saw lady boss's office still has the light switched on. I just realized lady boss never left her office since after lunch. She was still in her office for hours I guess.

I'm pretty worried. I wonder if she already had her dinner. She can’t work on an empty stomach.

I started walking toward her office, standing in front of the door. I started knocking it.

“Lady boss?” I called her out, but no reply. So I knocked again. “Lady boss, you there?” Again, no reply. Why wasn’t she replying to me? I have a bad feeling about this.

I tries to turn the knob, thinking that the boss didn’t lock the door. But fortunately, the door wasn’t lock. So I managed to open the door.

When I entered, I saw HER lying on her desk with a lot of papers already fell on the floor!! And some of it was on her desk untidy.

Then, the name of that boss slipped out from my mouth.

“MINJI!!!"
