It had been a week since they had defeated Spike and closed the gates for what they hoped were for good. El and Will seemed pretty confident that they had been successful. Both had been very drained but quite elated, still on a high from the power kick that Malcolm had given them.

Spike was long gone. Becca didn't know where and, quite honestly, she didn't care. As long as he was far away from them, she had no desire to go hunting him to the ends of the Earth. If he turned up again, she'd make him regret it. But if he stayed away, she'd let him be. He would probably think twice before darkening her door again, knowing she would be out for blood this time. Besides, she had far more important things to think about.

"Are you ready?"

A pair of strong arms, her favorite arms, slipped around her waist, a cheek pressing gently against hers. She smiled, melting back against him, resting her hands over his.

"I have been ready for a really long time," she replied. "I can't believe we're actually doing this. I mean, I know we said we would, but with everything going on, I never thought it would actually happen."

"Me too," Eddie agreed, his chin resting on her shoulder. "I kept trying to think positive. The idea of running away with you was just about the only thing that kept me going but there was always that nagging little voice in the back of my head saying it was never gonna happen."

Becca spun in his arms to turn toward him, taking his face in her hands, "Well, it's happening. You and me, we're getting out of this town. You're going to be in a new place where no one knows you or your past. You won't be wanted for murder and you and I can just enjoy the city. But I am going to have to have a chat with my mom about everything..."

"Does your mom know you're the slayer?" asked Eddie.

"No," Becca answered, shaking her head. "Sometimes, I wonder how she can be so oblivious and sometimes I think she only sees what she wants to. I don't know how she hasn't questioned the weird things happening or the blood in my clothes or the half assed explanations. I think she knows something is going on but she's happier in her ignorance. I just meant, I am going to have to talk to her about moving in with you so it might take a week or two but Malcolm already found a place. He said it has very poor natural light and it's been sitting empty for ages."

"Sounds like a dream," he teased, laughing. "You really want to live in some run-down, old, abandoned house with me?"

"I would live in a cardboard box with you," Becca assured him, pulling his head down to give him a kiss. "We'll fix it up. Look, we're not a normal couple. So what? I'm not a normal girl and you're not a normal guy. It doesn't matter. For the time we have, I just want to be with you as much as I can. So, yes, I would live with you anywhere."

Eddie gave her one of his soft, slow smiles, and she felt her stomach tighten the way it always did. He pressed his lips to hers and her hands tangled through his hair, moaning into the kiss.

The door suddenly opened with a loud slam, whoever opened it had used some force. They jumped apart, glancing over to find Dustin, Robin, Steve, Ivy, and Hopper walking into the house. Dustin, the culprit behind the door, had a grin on his face a mile wide.

"What are you looking so happy about?" Eddie asked. "Weren't you the one who was just here last night telling us we couldn't leave you and trying to give us all the reasons why we should just continue to stay in Hawkins? I thought you'd be downright pissed off today with us leaving after dark."

Dustin began rocking on his feet, heels to toes, that grin never leaving his face. Becca looked beyond him and noticed the others were smiling too. What was going on? She'd expected them all to show up to see them off and say goodbye but why did they look downright elated?
