Becca grabbed a couple more stakes, dropping them in her slay bag. At least that's what she called it. Some people had go bags, ready to head off at the first sign of danger. She had a slay bag, ready to fight evil at any given moment. Eddie sat on the couch, watching her as she tucked a stake in the sheath Todd had made for her a while back so she could always keep her weapon handy. It was the same idea as a knife sheath but wider to allow the thicker stake to stay secure.

"How long do you think your sacred duty is going to take?" Eddie asked, taking a sip of his blood. Becca had decided that he needed to stop acting like it was this big, shameful thing. She'd begun heating up his blood and putting it in a mug for him. It could be disturbing when he got the occasional blood mustache but she could handle it. She certainly wasn't squeamish and she was working really hard to try to get him feeling more positive about life, starting with how he felt about himself and his condition that he had no control over.

"I don't know," she offered with a shrug, walking over and sitting in his lap. He smiled, wrapping his arm around her waist. "It's not like a job where I just clock out when my time's up. Sometimes I can call it an early night because there's nothing out there and sometimes it's a busy one. I don't think I'll be gone long though. Hawkins has been pretty quiet since the gates were closed, honestly. I feel like I'm just going through the motions so I don't get the stern look and talking to from Malcolm about neglecting my birthright."

Eddie laughed and it was such a beautiful sound. She relished the moments when he was genuinely relaxed with her because most of the time he still seemed on edge. Even after two weeks, he looked like a man on the run, just waiting to be caught and dragged back to prison.

"I only ask because I miss you when you're gone," he said, lips teasing across her cheek, jaw, and neck.

"I miss you too," Becca sighed, eyes closing at the sweet sensation of his tongue running along her neck before nibbling at her ear. "I mean...I could skip the slaying and just stay here with you. There's probably nothing waiting out there anyway."

Eddie gently nipped the flesh on Becca's neck and she jumped, squeaking. He chuckled, nuzzling her throat with his nose.

"No sweetheart. I can't keep you from your duties or your watcher isn't going to be on Team Eddie anymore. I don't want to cause any more problems between you and Malcolm," he said, lifting his head, running his thumb along her lower lip. "But I will be waiting when you get back to continue this."

"Mmm..." she smiled, cupping him through his jeans and he gasped, eyes closing at the feel of her hand as she palmed him. "Just want to make sure you're thinking of me while I'm gone."

"Oh princess, that's guaranteed," he growled softly, nipping her ear. "Now, you better get going before I decide you're not going anywhere."

"Promises, promises," she laughed, rising up reluctantly. Becca grabbed her bag, slinging it over her shoulder before walking back to give him a long, lingering kiss. She pulled his bottom lip between her own, sucking gently before releasing it. "Quick round of the town and I will be back before you know it."

"You better be," Eddie smirked, grabbing her ass and squeezing. "Because now, what am I supposed to do with this?" He gestured down to the very obvious bulge, straining against the fabric of his pants.

"You could always take care of it yourself," Becca teased with a shrug.

"Not a chance," he gasped, sounding scandalized. "Why would I ever do that when I have you?"

"Well, then I will go take care of the beasties out there and then I will come take care of my beastie in here," she assured him, kissing his forehead. "You won't even know I'm gone."
