Chapter 16 / Flashback

this chapter is going to be a flashback from when danielle was in primary!  (small mentions of blood and death.)

(based on what happened with yeji)

3rd person / readers pov

it was maths and morning break had just finished, danielle and jinni had been playing tag with the other girls and both of them were exhausted. they had never had so much fun, danielle wanted to invite yeji to join but they couldnt find her anywhere.

when they both got back they saw yeji sat on her seat, she must of stayed in the class then, because yeji loved to play tag,

"jinni! lets go sit,"

"okay!"

they both sat next to eachother in class, of course that wasnt a problem for them, they didnt mind it. but what danielle did mind was that ! sat infront of them, jinni wasnt that bothered.

danielle always had some strange feeling about !, maybe its because she was so quiet and danielle was the opposite, meanwhile jinni liked her, she always thought that just because ! was quiet didnt mean that she was weird.

"psst, jinni?"

"hm?"

"dont you think ! is acting sus?"

"i dunno bruh, i think shes just quiet."

"true."

maths was boring, VERY boring. they both had no interest for numbers, until a question on the board caught jinni's eye,

it read,

"a cat ate 2 packs of food out of 10 packs, how much packs of food did the cat eat as a fraction."

"look! yejis on the question!"

the whole class started laughing, jinni knew how to make all the others laugh. she was the class clown of the class, all though she was never naughty,

danielle also started laughing, she glanced at ! and she had a jealous look on her face, danielle didnt have a clue, she thought maybe she wanted to make the class laugh, or that she wanted to be as loud as jinni.

school had ended so it was time for them to go home,

(next day)

jinni and danielle had been talking about why yeji wasnt in, and they both had some weird accusations..

"dani?"

"yeah?"

"why do you think yeji isnt in?"

"she prob got the flu,"

"yeah but like shes never been sick, she wouldve still came to school."

"what if a zombie ate her!"

"what! no! zombies dont eat people, only their brains, plus they dont even hunt at day, only night."

"and we both know yeji can only stay up till 7"

"and we both know yeji can only stay up till 7"

they both said at the same time, they started to laugh until they got shouted at by their teacher, danielle and jinni quickly shut their mouth but started to giggle anyway,

"okay, pack your things and go outside for break!"

danielle and jinni hurried up and packed their things and ran to the bathroom, they liked it there since they got to look at what people write on bathroom walls and it always made them both laugh,

when they both arrived they saw ! walking with a grin on her face

"hello, danielle, jinni."

"yo!"

"hi.."

! had walked away peacefully and went outside, jinni and danielle both looked at eachother and shrugged before rushing inside, until jinni had stopped danielle,

"why did you-"

"you see?"

both of them were stunned, they had never seen someone do this,

there was a message on the mirror saying

"there can only be one cat."

the message wasnt a pen, when writing it looked like it was dripping, the room was white and clean but the message had looked like something of a horror movie, yknow when the villian kills someone and writes their victims name with blood? exactly like that.

"whats this message about and who is it about?"

"i dont know.."

silence filled the room until they both shouted,

"YEJI!"

they figured that if ! was the last one to come in here then it must have been her jealousy towards yeji, the things is ! also looked like a cat. but nobody would never say that, who would?

both of of them rushed into each and every stall, trying to see if yeji would be in here somewhere but nope, they were all empty,

"what if shes dead?! look at the message! isnt it obvious!"

"well how is this room so clean?! wouldnt it be covered with blood!"

they both wanted to cry, they was scared, danielle and jinni both ran outside the room, jinni went to go tell a teacher while danielle was following her,

"miss! look at the bathroom!"

"what?"

"MISS! PLEASE!"

"r-right! dont shout!"

a teacher went into the bathroom and gasped, she grabbed jinni and danielle by the hand and led them outside,

"play outside, im going to deal with this."

after that, yeji never came back in. not once.

it had been a week after the incident and danielle and jinni were both sat on their chairs in history, there was only 2 weeks left until they graduated and that means they could finally spend their summer together,

"dani?"

"hm?"

"remember what we saw last week,"

"that was scary bro.."

"yeah,"

history went by quite slowly, jinni and danielle were talking the whole lesson kept on getting told off for it, when the teacher announced that they had 20 minutes left of free time jinni jumped with joy,

she loved free time because everyone would play board games with her, jinni was about to play snakes and ladders with danielle but another teacher from a different class took danielle out so jinni couldnt play with her,

jinni was abit sad, she loved to play with danielle, until someone came up her desk,

"would you like to play with me?"

jinnis eyes lit up,

"sure!"

! had asked her to play with her, she asked the teacher if her and jinni could play outside the class and luckily she said yes,

when they both went out the class, ! explained the rules and jinni listened carefully, when they both finished the game, it was home time as history was their last lesson.

jinni ran home as fast as she could, panting and gasping for air while doing so.

and when tomorrow came, she never came in, just like yeji.

they both never came in. not even for graduation..
