Cornerstone

Cornerstone,
Where no air blows
And more burdens grow.
Forgotten with time
Though i was begotten
By the hands that buildeth
The house.

Left in the earth
To grow mold and old,
Yet i was the foundation
To all the cheer
You enjoy.

I stay in the cold of nights
And the warmth of days.
Always in the blind spot
Of the people I served.

Irrelevant i may be,
But as a puzzle piece
Completion is unachievable
Without me.

From nothingness
I will rear my head,
Albeit my diminishing use,
Until my significance is seen
By the keen
Eyes of my creator.
