Context: You and Penny have become closer after Starfall street. One night you sneak out of your dorm late at night. Penny's dorm is right next to yours and she hears you sneak out and follows you to the school yard..

You laid in bed staring at the ceiling for god who knows how long, you haven't checked the clock since 8pm. You had gotten ready for bed and everything but tonight you just could not fall asleep. You've tried counting sheep, rapidly blinking your eyes, counting backwards yet nothing had made you sleepy

You reluctantly got up out of your bed very quietly, you grabbed a hoodie from your closet. You put some shoes on and tried your best to get out of your dorm, attempting to avoid certain areas of the floor which you knew that creaked. Luckily no one had woken up or opened their dorm door so you quickly scurried to the schoolyard

Penny had creaked her dormitory door open ever slow slightly to see you speed walk to the stairs.

"What is she doing up so late?" Penny thought before slipping on her shoes and quietly following you to the school yard. She caught up in time to see you sit down in the center of the yard. She watched you for a bit

You stared up at the night sky, admiring the stars. Penny slowly walked up to you and sat down beside you, looking at you

"What're you doing up N/n?" Penny asked as you were still looking at the night sky

"I could ask you the same PenPen" you turned your head to her smiling
(I had to look up a nickname for her fyi)

"I heard you open your door and I wondered what you were doing.. I saw you go up the stairs and I kinda followed you.?" Penny responded

"Oh, I'm sorry did I wake you up?" You apologized, scared that you did.

"No no, I was already up watching some anime so it's all good n/n" Penny reassured

You both sat in awkward silence, now avoiding eye contact with one another. You could hear crickets in the background and the wind blowing. It had gotten chilly.

Penny shivered a bit, she was wearing a t-shirt and shorts after all, it was a bit odd to you seeing Penny not wearing something other than her signature outfit and the school uniform.

"Are you getting cold? You should head back inside before you get sick PenPen" you told her

She shook her head, you sighed

"You're gonna get sick, cmon I'll bring you back to your dorm-"

"No! I mean, I just really want to be in your company right now.. if you don't mind?" She stated

"Come here" You shook your head and opened your arms as she immediately accepted your hug, snuggling into you for warmth

You held her close and she didn't let go of you. Sitting in silence once more. You could still feel Penny shivering but she didn't seem to want to move from your guys position

You've always hugged Penny but this one just seemed different, your face was flushed and you had butterflies in your stomach. Or did this always happen and you couldn't think straight?

"Mhm.. N/n?" Penny whispered half asleep

"Mhm?" you hummed letting her know you heard her and are listening

"I.. really like you, you know?" She mumbled out

"I really like you too PenPen" you smiled

"Not like that.. I like you as in I like you romantically and I dunno if I'm seeing your signals wrong but.." she murmured out, burying her head in your chest further after

"Well... I... I like you in that way too" You said looking to side, her gaze raised to you as she sat up a bit now registering everything

"Really?" She asked dumbfounded

"Really" you chuckled

You two stared at each other, not knowing what to say next. You didn't know whether you were dreaming or hallucinating but you and Penny were drawing closer and closer.

Now that your faces were only mere inches apart You asked

"May I kiss you..?"

"Yes, please do" she smiled as you and her closed the distance between the both of you.

You held onto her waist as she cupped your face. It wasn't anything heated but more of a soft, sweet delicate kiss. Truly showing how much the they adored the other, you two parted after a short while. Foreheads touching and smiling like  little kids

"How about we go to your dorm and cuddle?" Penny suggested

"I'd love that" you said, standing up and holding out a hand to Penny

"I love you N/n"

"I love you too PenPen"
