The fire crackled infront of me and the movement of the flame almost mimicked dancing, I pulled the blanket off on legs and flipped the quill in my fingers over a few times, studying for our baseline's was bad enough doing it with a throbbing head ache was even worse.
My stomach turned from the night before and my ears began to ring, the sun began to peek over the ridges of the tree's. I failed to get any sleep because of this unbearable headache.
A high-pitched creek sounded from behind me and I flicked my head to see Draco making his way down the stairs.
"You're up early?" He questions as he comes closer "I could say the same for you." I comment as I move over creating a space for him on the sofa, "couldn't sleep, something was definitely off with Theo's muggle-herb" Draco replies and I chuckle slightly revealing my dimples, "I think something's definitely off with Theo" I retort earning a small laugh from Draco.
We sit in silence for a while and I continue with my studying and he mearly watch's the fire, "I peer over to him and he almost looks sad, lifeless." I push my things away and snuggle under the blanket next to him.
"Rough Summer?" I question and he laughs, "real original" as much as we didn't want to admit it, we had a-lot in common, our families were similar in some ways.
I knew he'd never talk about it, he was just as stubborn as I was but i wanted him to know that I cared.
He got up from the sofa shifting the weight causing me to tip slightly to the side, "I'll see you at breakfast?" He questions and I give him a small nod in return.
We never really shared each others company but it felt... easy when we did.
He returned upstairs and I followed a few minutes later, heading up to Pansy and I's dorm. I push open the door and the room was suffocating in darkness, I peered around the corner to find Pansy asleep in her bed.
I moved further towards her, hesitating slightly before tossing a pillow at her head. She sharply inhaled before sitting up to face me.
"You bitch" she comments attempting to throw the pillow back, "breakfast's in an hour get your lazy ass up." I retort, chuckling slightly.
I began to rummage through my draws in search of my robes, seeing as I hadn't worn them all summer they had to be somewhere at the bottom.
Pansy rolled out of bed clearly exhausted, she tossed her covers behind her and slouched her way to her dresser, "I'm going to take a shower" she states, "I'll meet you at breakfast".
I give her a swift nod as she exits our dorm, today was the first day back to lessons and as many shit days do, it started off with potions.
Snape was never one to please, it was all or nothing in his class, though he knew Draco and I rather well we didn't receive any special treatment.
I undressed my self, tossing my nightwear on the floor, goosebumps slithered down my body, my attention was caught by the mark on my arm, I couldn't help but feel it was getting darker...stronger.
The snake twisted and wrapped it's way around the skull causing little hints of pain to surd through my body, the small pang felt almost irrelevant to the times where it felt as if the skin was melting off my arm, some would say it was like a Cruciatus Curse embedded into my flesh.
I swallowed sharply, as much as I wanted my fate to change, I had no way out, my stomach churned at the thought.
Repress.
I closed my eyes and pushed my feelings deep down hoping they would be lost forever, mere moments past before Blasie boomed into the dorm, practically busting down the door.
I rushed to cover my body with my robes, "Blasie what the fuck!" I yelled and he smirked slightly, "don't act like I haven't seen you in your underwear darling" the words practically slipped off his tongue and my cheeks grew red with fluster.
He paused for a moment scanning the room before beginning again, "have you seen Pans?" He asks turning to face me.
I drop the clothes covering me, Blasie didn't seem to care he eyes didn't once move from mine, "she went to the showers." I state turning around to continue getting ready.
He pauses for a moment before replying, "you ok?" He asked still facing me, I give him a nod in reply, "when am I not?" He tilts his head slightly a frown growing on his face. "You know what I mean Lills." I pause turning to face him, our gazes lock together, "don't worry about me Blasie I'm fine...I promise." A small smile grows across his face and he shakes his head slightly, "you're awfully good at lying darling." He finish's, and turns to exit the dorm.
I move towards the door sliding it shut before continuing to get ready, one thing Blasie lacked was courtesy to knock on the damn door before busting it down.
The sun was now peering through the window casting a checkered light across the floor, I slid my shoes on and made my way down to the great hall.
"I don't see why Snape sets us homework, I mean he knows we're busy." Theo states as he falls into step with me, I furrow my brows in visible confusion, "what homework?" He match's my expression before explaining the essay due, I internally face-palm, "we were talking about it on the train?" He tries to rejog my memory, "Theo I was stoned off my fucking face, I wasn't going to remember it." He laughed, I was still mad at him but we were friends for too long to let one argument get between us.
"It's fine, Draco said he couldn't be asked to do it so you two can share detention together." Theo adds bumping into me slightly, great just what I need to start off my year at Hogwarts.
My stomach gurgled at the scent of cinnamon and pumpkin juice seeing as the only thing to fill it for the last 48 hours would be muggle-herb.
Theo and I entered the great hall and made our way over the rest of the group.
"Took you long enough." Pansy exclaims and I take my seat next to her, I rolled my eyes before placing a salad on my plate.
I was suddenly nudged over as Marcus flint abruptly took a seat next to me, "The fuck Marcus, watch where you sit." His gaze shifted to me and I was meet with his rotting smile, he slides his hand onto my upper thigh, my mouth salivates and my heart skips a beat.
I quickly look up meeting Blasie's gaze, my eyes practically screaming help. Marcus's grip tightens slightly and I make an effort to try and move his hand, "stop resisting sweetheart, you wanted it last year." He almost spits in my face and I turn to him with a soar look.
"Fuck off Marcus." Blasie spoke from across the table, Marcus turns to face him a with a slicked expression, "c'mon Zabini forgot how to have a little fun?" He taunts.
Blasie doesn't break eye contact and Marcus takes that as a queue to leave, "he's just a man whore who needs to learn how to keep it in his pants." Blasie comments giving me a sympathetic glance and I pull down my skirt.
Draco stabs the asparagus with his fork, "well Lilly needs to learn when to keep her legs shut" he retorts and I send him a hurt glance, "what the fuck Malfoy?" I question him, he doesn't meet my gaze only moving the food around in his plate, "please, who haven't you fucked in this castle." He adds and I can't feel a slight pang in the back of my throat.
Ouch.
"You one to talk, you've got all the girls in slytherin wrapped around your fucking finger." I spit back and he looks up to meet my eyes. "We'll at least I've got standards." He yells clearly hurt, this just pissed me off more, what the fuck was his problem, "I've got standards, that's why I haven't fucked you!" I yell back and people turn to stare.
The group falls silent and we continue eating.
Draco's words hurt, but I think that's because they were true.
Repress.
"We need to get going to potions, we'll see you boys later." Pansy says grabbing my hand, we make our way out of the hall, my eyes lock with Malfoy's.
Asshole.
