The next morning I woke up feeling groggy. I hadn't gotten much sleep the night before even though I went to bed as soon as I got home from dropping off Luke. Physically I was exhausted, but my mind was restless. So many things were running through my head. The kind of things that you worry about at 2 a.m. when you need to get up early the next morning.

When my alarm went off it felt like I had only gotten minutes of sleep. But I dragged my butt out of bed to get ready for the shit day ahead of me. I walked into my bathroom and splashed cold water on my face in hopes of making me feel less dead.

I stared at my reflection and took notice of the pretty bruise left from the drunk. There was absolutely no way I could go to school without covering it up. I poked at it softly and felt the sting. Today is gonna suck ass.

My eyes drifted down to the shirt I was wearing. I stared it confusion because it wasn't my shirt. I didn't own any Vans shirt. It took me 2.5 seconds to realize it was actually Luke's shirt from the day earlier. I had slept in his shirt and didn't even realize. And I had no intentions of giving it back to him. As I pulled it off me I could still smell him on the fabric. I closed my eyes and inhaled it. I felt a little like a stalker, but I also didn't care.

I continued on with getting ready for school. I showered, did my hair, and got dressed quicker than I usually did. The rest of the time was spent on making sure the bruise was completely covered and unnoticeable. Once that was successful, I was on my way.

On the way to school I stopped at the local coffee place because there was no way I would be able to function today without some form of caffeine. By the time I got to school I had minutes before the first bell would ring. I wouldn't be able to have my morning cigarette break.

When I walked into Liz's class I was ready to knock in the teeth of the first person who even looked at me dirty. Liz sensed this and didn't bother calling me at all during the lesson. She did, however, pull me over after class.

"Everything alright?" She asked once the room was empty.

I nodded. "I'm just tired."

Liz looked at me in concern. "Would you like me email your next teacher that I need you this class period so you can take a nap?"

I gave her a small smile as I shook my head. "I have a test. Thanks though."

She returned the smile. "Okay. Come in during lunch and sleep if you're still tired."

I nodded again. "Yes ma'am."

"Good luck on your test." She called out as I exited the classroom and I gave her another smile.

It felt really good to have someone care the way Liz did. To have a mother figure to take care of me like a mother should. I wished she had been there earlier for me, but I had her right then and I wasn't about to complain.

The rest of my day dragged on like I expected. When lunch did come around I decided to take Liz's offer and went to her class for a much needed nap. She wasn't there when I entered so I just slept on a desk of the back of the class. It wasn't comfortable, but I worked with what I had. I had slept probably twenty minutes before someone had woken me up. I felt someone shake my shoulder and squinted up at the person who had a death wish. To my luck, it was Luke.

"Fuck off." I muttered.

"What are you doing?" He asked.

"Do you not understand what the term 'fuck off' means?" I growled, but he continued to stand there. "I'm picking daisies. What the fuck does it look like I'm doing?"

His brows furrowed. "Why are you sleeping?"

I glared at him. "Because I'm tired. Wow someone is really lacking brain cells today."
