"Piper?" Someone said softly as they shook my shoulder.

I let out a small groan and snuggled deeper into my blankets. I could already feel the splitting headache begin to form so I shut my eyes tighter and forced myself to go back to sleep. Unfortunately, someone else had other ideas.

"Come on Sweets. You gotta get up." The voice said again, shaking me a little harder this time.

I shook my head softly and grumbled. "No."

A hand stroke my hair softly. "Yes Piper. It's time to get up."

I groaned again, but opened my eyes. It took a moment for them to adjust, but when they did I was greeted with the sight of my smiling father. "Dad!"

I sat up quickly, but immediately regretted it once I felt the ache in my head. My fingers started rubbing my temples in hopes to relieve some amount of pain. It was doing very little though. This is what I get for trying to get plastered drunk.

"Here, take these." My dad said as he handed me three aspirins and a glass of water.

I gave him a weak smile. "Thank you." I swallowed down the pills with ease and chased it with the water in massive gulps.

"Rough night?" He asked and I nodded. "Your friend Luke told me all about it."

My eyes went wide and I nearly choked on my water. "You talked to Luke? When? How?"

"Relax Sweets." He chuckled. "The boy was passed out on our couch. I was a bit startled to see a 6ft tall man sleeping on our furniture, but he explained that he stayed to make sure you would be okay."

I felt my cheeks flush. "Oh."

My dad stood from my bed and stretched out. "Grab your jacket and shoes. I have been on the road for far too long and I am in need of some good old diner breakfast."

"What time is it?" I asked, still feeling flushed.

He checked his wristwatch that I had gotten for him as a birthday gift when I was eight. "It's 9 a.m."

I furrowed my eyebrows. "Don't you wanna sleep first? You've been on the road all night."

"Nope." He shook his head. "I wanna spend time with my Kid. Soon I won't be able to do that as often as I would like."

I nodded softly. "Okay, just give me 10 minutes."

He pointed at me. "Don't go fallin' asleep gain."

I rolled my eyes and laughed. My dad gave me one of his 'I'm happy to be home' grins before exiting my room. My hands rubbed my tired eyes as I got out of bed and headed to my bathroom. When I saw my reflection, I recoiled. I looked like hell.

There were dark bags under my tired, makeup smudged eyes. My hair was sticking up in all different directions and not in the normal bedhead way. My cheeks were red and puffy like I had been crying in my sleep. Why would I be crying? Did I cry last night?

That's when I realized I didn't remember anything from the previous night. Everything was a blur after I talked to Jack about getting weed for Gabby. Oh god, did I abandon Gabby? Is she alright? I'm such a shit friend. And why was Luke here all night? Did he go to the party too? Did he take me home?

My head was starting to feel heavy from all the questions I had circling around. I took a deep breath and splashed cold water on my face. I felt a tiny bit better and I knew the painkillers would kick in soon, but I still looked like hell.

I smoothed down my hair the best I could before finally giving up and pulling it into a messy bun. I rid myself of the smudged eyeliner and put a light coat of foundation to hide the puffiness. I changed out of the shirt I was wearing and threw on a sweatshirt because I honestly didn't feel like putting on a bra. It was cool in March so a sweatshirt wouldn't kill me.
