The next few days hadn't really changed. Luke and I didn't talk in school in the first place and neither of us made the effort to go out of our way to say hi. But there was the occasional smile and wave when we passed each other in the hall. We hadn't spoken either since Sunday. The both of us were really busy with school and life. It wasn't until that Friday did we finally have a chance to talk.

I went to Liz's classroom after school because she said she needed to speak with me about something. Of course she wasn't in there, but Luke was. He was sitting in a desk in the back working on something. His head looked up when I walked in and he put what he was doing away in his bag.

"Hey." I said as walked towards him.

He smiled. "Hey, what's up?"

"Do you know where your mom is?" I asked.

"You just missed her. She has a parent-teacher meeting right now." He stated.

"Shit..." I mumbled.

He gave me a concerned look as he stood from the desk. "Is everything alright?"

"Yeah, everything's fine!" I waved him off. "Your mom said she wanted to talk about something, but didn't say what it was about."

"Oh it's probably about tonight." Luke groaned.

My brows furrowed. "What's tonight?"

"It's Dad's birthday today and Mom is throwing a party. Which means all my family is going to be at my house tonight." He sighed.

"Sounds like you're excited." I laughed.

"Well you're invited."

"Hmm, being in a room and having dinner with a bunch of people who will probably ask you a bunch of embarrassing questions? Sounds fun!"

He gave me a hopeful look. "So you'll come?"

I thought about it for a moment. "Yeah I'll go." Luke smiled wildly and was about to say something when I stopped him. "But under one condition."

He looked at me wearily. "What?"

I poked his chest. "You have to come with me to the Of Mice and Men concert."

His eyes went wide. "You got tickets?" I nodded. "How? Those went out of sale weeks ago."

I smiled. "I know a guy."

"But what about Michael or your friend Gabby?" He asked. "Wouldn't they want to go with you?"

I shook my head. "Gabby has a thing with her dad and Michael... We're not on the best of terms right now."

Michael and I were on bad terms actually. He accused me of have feelings for Luke after he asked me where I had gone on Saturday. When I tried to explain that me and Luke were only friends that only made things worse. He started to remind me of all the shit he had done to the both of us and started telling me how stupid I was for trusting him. That conversation did not end well.

Luke raised an eyebrow. "Is everything okay?"

I waved him off. "Don't worry about it. So do we have a deal?"

"You drive a hard bargain ma'am." He stroked his chin. "Alright, I shall accept your deal."

I smiled. "Good. What is the attire of the occasion?"

"Semi-formal. So you have to wear a dress. I'll come pick you up at 7." He informed me.

I nodded. "Okay. I'll be ready by then."

"Cool." He said.

Neither of us said anything for a moment. From the look on his face he had something he wanted to say, but didn't know how to put it into words.
