It's been months now since the group hit the road. They never found a place good enough for the long term. Lori was nearly ready to give birth. The group needed a stable place, quickly.
Then one day, as the group had to leave a new place again, Daryl and Rick found the prison. It was the perfect place.
Noa and some others were assigned to kill walkers through the fence as Rick enters and secure the second fence.
Daryl took the first watch while the others were eating. He looked at Noa from afar smiling. She was safe, finally. He saw her feature becoming a bit serious as she got up and walked to Rick.
He was still in his thoughts when Carol came to him. "It's not much, but if I don't bring you something, you won't eat at all and make Noa worried"
He decided to ignore the comment about Noa and answered eating. "I guess little Shane over there has got quite the appetite."
Carol laughed at his sarcasm. "Don't be mean. Rick's gotten us a lot farther than I ever thought he would, I'll give him that. Shane could never have done that.", she said the final sentence rolling her shoulder. She seemed in pain. Daryl question her about it and she blamed the riffle, rubbing her shoulder.
He placed his plate on the floor and signed her to come closer in order to massage her. "Better go back", he told her after a few seconds.
"It's pretty romantic. Want to screw around?", Carol said making Daryl scoff. They end up laughing together. "I'm kidding, I'll let Noa take care of you on that"
Daryl got a bit embarrassed. "Is it obvious?"
Carol looked at him more seriously. "Daryl you can't stop smiling when you look at her and we all know you don't smile a lot", she smiled at him.
At the same time, Noa was talking with Rick. "Listen I don't want to bother you, just thank you Rick", she said placing her hand on his arm. "You find us a safe place", her eyes drifted away to Daryl as she said that.
"So you and Daryl?", Rick finally said with a little smile remembering the kiss at the farm.
Noa giggled. "I think there's always been a thing going on but apparently we needed the end of the world to do something about it", she continued to look at Daryl.
"He'll make you happy", Rick told her.
"I know.", she looked back at him. "He's already making me so happy.", Noa flashed him a smile. "Let's go by the fire with the other, you need to eat"
The day after the group decided to push further in. T-dog, Glenn, Maggie, Daryl, Noa and Rick went through the second fence while the other were killing walkers through the fence.
Noa and Maggie were struggling with a armored walker. "Go Maggie", Noa said getting behind the walker and pushing his head backwards.
She got a clear vision of the walker's chin and pressed in her knife sending him to the floor. The two girls looked at each other smiling before looking at Glenn and T-dog beside them. "See that?", they both asked excited.
The place was clear. Daryl approached Noa slowly. "Ya okay?", he asked quietly checking her up. She smiled at him and nodded.
The group settled in one of the cell blocks. Noa found a cell pretty far from the other on the first floor. Daryl joined her, he seemed unhappy. She sighed and approached him, grabbing his hand.
"Listen, I know that you don't like being in a cage as you say, that you'd have preferred the perch" She paused a second looking at him. "But I just thought we'd have more intimacy here"
