"Mornin'," Arthur whispered into Tori's hair

"Mornin'," Arthur whispered into Tori's hair. As with all the previous mornings of late, they woke in each others' arms as fresh rays of morning sun peeked through the flowing, lace curtains of their room in Smithfield's Saloon. The feeling of her soft skin brushing his fingertips was a sensation he never grew tired of. He'd have been content to lay there all day simply listening to her breathe, if it weren't for the sound of knocking on their door, a knocking which had awakened them both.

"Arthur! Tori! Wake up!" said Jackson. "I just realized something!"

Tori sighed. "If we ignore him, maybe he'll go away," she whispered, her lips grazing Arthur's sleepily. He cupped her face with his hand in response and kissed her back with feather-light brushes of his lips on her cheek, ears, neck, and collar bones.

His other hand massaged her breast and then moved down beneath her legs. He had just begun to rub his fingers against her in a soft, circular motion, enjoying the soft moans and sighs she made against his neck, when Jackson's pounding on the door began to increase. "I know you two are awake in there! Stop pretending to be asleep and let me in. This is important!"

Arthur groaned. There was nothing more annoying in that moment than being cock blocked by his brother-in-law. "Can I shoot him?" Arthur groaned. "Please, Tori?"

She chuckled and swatted his hand away from between her legs, still breathing a bit heavily with excitement. "Stop it, you asshole," she whispered. "Put some pants on and go see what he wants."

Still mumbling in annoyance under his breath, Arthur made sure he was decent and then opened the door, squinting against the bright sunlight coming in through an open window across the hall. "What?" he growled angrily. "I was havin' a good mornin' until you refused to leave us alone."

Jackson peered behind him into the room, his eyes sliding momentarily over his sister. She'd covered herself with the bed covers, but it was obvious from her bare shoulders that she was naked. That plus the fact that Arthur was holding the bottom half of his long johns up above his waist with his hand and hadn't bothered to pull the top of it over his bare torso allowed Jackson to put two and two together. "Jesus," he said, blinking uncomfortably and staring at the ground as his face turned bright red. "I'm sorry, but like I said this is important. Guess what happens tomorrow?"

Arthur raised an eyebrow. The days had started to blur together lately because of how much time he'd been spending catching up on his relationship with Tori and finally enjoying some alone time with her. "I ain't much good at riddles," he replied. "Just tell me instead of makin' me guess."

"You," said Jackson. "You happen tomorrow. You and John and a few others shoot up the town of Valentine, and there's a very good chance Jenny will be there, too."

"So? We never went into this saloon."

"So," Jackson said in annoyance, pushing his way into the room and shutting the door behind him so as not to be overheard, "This place will be crawling with Pinkertons and law, not to mention that Mac is here with us now. If he catches sight of Jenny, there's no telling what he'll do."
