Joseph opened his eyes. He was in the spiders web, and was stuck in it. The webs were wrapped all around him, so he couldn't move. A spider crawled up to him. "Ah, Joseph. So you've finally arrived. What has caused this visit?" Joseph struggled to break free, but stopped and said, "I need help with my wasp. It's not showing everything."
"I see. So that's what finally aroused your suspicion." The spider began to cut the webs restraining him. "You're not normal." It said. "Eleven years? That would have concerned anybody. A faulty wasp? That really worries you. And now, a special message from the spiders. What do you think it is?" Joseph didn't know how to respond. "Doesn't this web look familiar?" Asked the spider. "Doesn't this whole world look familiar?" Joseph was dumbfounded. "Your wasp is unfinished. You wanted it to be like that. You also didn't want to remember. Which is why we can't tell you. You didn't want us to. You had some very odd requests."
"What do you mean by that? I don't think I ever asked for that." Said Joseph. "Oh, but you did. When you were alive. You have more than you think you do. You are in control of this." The spider just confused Joseph even more. "Why are you being complicated?" He asked. "Because," said the spider, "it was one of your 'divine requests'."***
Xavier and Duncan were at the dance. It was 7:00 P.M., and they were just talking and having fun the whole time. Mark and Blake had designed and chaperoned the party. Duncan watched as Xavier talked to others at the party. It was odd how his friend that was always anxious, was actually a social butterfly. But he didn't seem to be happy, which made Duncan upset. Mark walked up to him. "You good?" He asked. "Yeah, I'm good. But..." he trailed off as he looked at Xavier. "Oh, I see." Said Mark. "You tried your signature hug?" He asked, laughing a bit. "Yeah, but he's still not happy." Duncan said. His tail and ears drooped. "Well, do you know why he's unhappy?" Asked Mark. "I don't."
"Well, I'll try to help."~~~
Xavier wasn't really having fun at the party. He was doing tons of fun stuff, but he couldn't stop thinking about Duncan. He wanted to ask him out, but he hasn't done it yet. There was only three hours left to ask him. Then, Blake came up to him. "How are you?" He asked. "I'm fine, thanks." Responded Xavier. "You looked bothered by something. Is there a problem?" Xavier discerned whether or not to tell Blake. "Well," he started. "I asked Duncan to go to this dance with me, and I wanted to ask him something else, but I'm not sure if I should. I'm thinking about him more than I should, and I think I'm overreacting." Blake thought for a moment, then signaled to someone.
~~~
"So," said Mark. "Did you come here with anyone? Ya know, other than Xavier?"
"No, just us two. He invited me to go to this, but it's strange; he's not enjoying it."
"Is Xavier your best friend? Or just a classmate?"
"Well, he's a really good friend." Said Duncan. "And as his friend, I try to make him happy. But it's not working."
"Well, maybe he needs someone more than a best friend." Mark disappeared, which made sense, since he was the shadow elite. But he didn't understand what he meant. He though about it. He needed someone to be more than a friend. His thoughts sparked for a second, then stopped.~~~
Blake walked over to Xavier. "You should invite Duncan to dance. It's a really good song." He walked away, and Xavier began to walk over to Duncan. He looked at him with a smile, and invited him to dance. He agreed. But neither of them knew what to do. Xavier was panicking inside, and felt like he might be getting a burn on his cheeks. "So..." he began. He didn't know what to say. "I don't really know how to dance." Said Duncan. "I already couldn't, but being a wolf makes it even more difficult." Xavier admitted that he didn't know how to either, and they both laughed. Xavier looked at Duncan and made eye contact. He was internally screaming.
~~~
Duncan was looking at Xavier. Until I Found Her began playing. He looked at the speaker, then back at Xavier. His thoughts sparked again, but this time it didn't stop. He noticed how nice his hair looked since it was dyed yellow. He held out his hand. "Want to try to dance?" He asked. Xavier held his hand, and Duncan's mind flared. They stood still for a moment. Duncan's mind was blazing. "You look nice." He managed to grab a thought from the odd swirl on his brain. "Ok, I just need to say, you're really cool." Duncan hugged Xavier, and their sparks collided.
~~~
They separated from their hug, but stayed close to each other. The fire in had left his mind, and had moved between the two of them. "I wanted you to know, that I kinda like you. You wanna do something later?" Xavier had finally said it, and felt kind of relived. But he still had to wait for Duncan's answer. "I'd like that." Xavier pulled himself closer to give Duncan a hug. They walked slowly as they hugged.
The song ended, and something went wrong with the speakers, and they blared a loud and painful noise. The sound stopped. "Sorry!" Called Mark. "The speakers had a malfunction! It's fixed now!" Duncan and Xavier stared at each other. "You want to go do something else?" Asked Duncan. Xavier agreed, and they awkwardly held hands as they walked out of the school.
Joseph had left the Spiders Quarry. He didn't know what they meant, but as of right now, it didn't really matter. He walked through the Dark Side do the Village of Light. He got there, and waited at the train station. He got on, and waited to arrive to the Great City. When they did, he got off and headed towards Cheshire City. As he entered Bricker City, he saw the others there. Tasha took the train home, and Basil finished and also took the train home.
Duncan and Xavier approached them from Cheshire City, seeming happy. Joseph called them over, and Duncan ran over, followed by Xavier. Joseph thought of a way to create the wormhole, specifically how to create a tear. Then he had an idea.
He called Chill over to them, and he, Tasha, Basil, Joseph, Duncan, and Xavier all left Bricker City to head to the train station. He asked Vin to go to the Silent Falls. "What is your idea?" Asked Tasha. "You'll see." They got off the train, and headed back towards the Great City. Joseph stopped once to they reached an open field patch. The others watched as Joseph grabbed his mirror and smashed it on the ground. Brax popped out, and prepared to run. But before he could, Joseph struck him with a blow from his tool. In that same instant, a blinding white light burst from Brax, and spread across the fields. The light turned black, and Joseph was in some kind of void, he looked over and saw someone, but before he could do anything the inky walls began collects at a single point. Behind it was the fields. They all stared as it finished forming.
There was a wormhole in front of them, leading to a black void. They walked in, and it was quite normal. Then, Brax jumped inside, and the wormhole closed. He ran off to who knows where. They were worried that they might be stuck there, but then Joseph saw the person from earlier. They approached him, and asked where they were. The person was a skeleton, but their face didn't seem like a normal skull. He turned around to them and smiled. "Oh, hey!" He said.
"You finally made it!"
