Tam's POV:

5 years later

I sat there just watching Calla and Kenric, our twins, playing in the fields next to our house. Tomorrow was their fourth birthday, (A/N I know they don't really celebrate birthdays, but who cares) Kenric looked just like his mother, while Calla had my hair and complexion, with hazel eyes, a mix of my blue eyes, and Sophie's brown. Sophie had wanted to do a party for them, just this once. Both had already manifested, the youngest elves ever, our friends, and family knew. Kenric held true to his namesake becoming a telepath, mixed with a polyglot. While Calla was a inflictor and enhancer, we both knew that Keefe had felt one more ability for each but for some reason neither had manifested that ability yet. I was slightly sad that neither had gotten my ability.

Slowly our oldest friends began glittering near our house. First Biana and Dex, with their 2 year old son, Mica. Then Fitz and Lihn, in which Lihn was currently, 6 months pregnant. Next came, Keefe and Marella, with a son and daughter, not twins, but they were only a year apart, the 4 year old girl named Daphne and the 3 year old boy named Soren. Then Grady and Edaline. And finally, Oralie, not a councilor anymore, and Councilor Bronte, along with Councilor Te(a)rik.

As Sophie brought out a cake, some human thing she liked, she began humming a soft song. And whispered in our children's ear to make a wish. Suddenly, they took each others hands and blacked out of view, I knew at that moment they had manifested, they hid it form us. They were shades. I tried to draw the shadows away from them, but with Calla's enhancing, and Sophie's Gene's I couldn't pull the Shadows away from them. I reached for Sophie's and and told her to switch on  her enhancing. I felt a spark run through me, and felt the effects of her enhancing. i once again felt for the shadows, and pulled them away from Calla and Kenric, I noticed something, these shadows were colder and heavier than regular shadows, these were shadowflux.

I still pulled the shadows away. Btu I whispered to Sophie, "Those were shadowflux." "SHADOWFLUX??? How? It took you years before you even knew about it let alone actually being able to control it." Everyone broke into a shouting match. Before Keefe yelled, "OKAY, calm down, I mean in a way didn't we expect this? I guess we will just have to pay attention closely to them. Also Bangs Boy, They disappeared again."

I looked around and reached for Sophie again, this time rather than dissipating the shadow flux, I sent it away from us. the rest of the party went off without a hitch.

Later after everyone left, and the kids were asleep, I softly said, "Soph, Why did you chose me? All I am is the night. You are the brightest star." She replied, " The star can't shine with out it night. So this family is the night and the brightest stars.
