Kelile awoke in a cold sweat, unsure if he could make sense of what had happened.

He tried communicating with the ship's AI, but it was unresponsive. After checking his systems, he realized that the ship's communications were down, and his communicator was not working either. Panic began to set in as he realized he was completely cut off from the rest of his fleet and trapped in a debris field.

As he scanned his surroundings, Kelile spotted a distress signal. He warily approached the source of the signal and was shocked to find a survivor from the driftless ship he saw in his vision. The survivor was badly injured, and Kelile rushed to help.

The survivor, barely conscious, told Kelile about the war with an alien race but failed to mention their name.

The survivor continued to explain, "My ancestors had sent the DNA of all life left on Mars to Earth."

"How so? Why? What does it have to do with me?" Kelile apprehensively replied.

Stunned to hear this and realize the gravity of the situation, he decided to defer from the topic and asked Kelile to be brought back to his ship to help him recover.

The survivor's injuries were more severe than Kelile initially thought, and he found himself having to use all of his medical training to keep the survivor alive.

Kelile started to wonder about the fate of the rest of his kind and the remnants of their civilization. "What is your name?" Kelile asked.

"In my region, I'm called..." The survivor trailed off, struggling to speak. Kelile sensing the urgency rushed to stabilize him.

"Don't worry about it," Kelile said gently. "You need to rest now. We'll get you back to your ship to recover. Save your breath."  The survivor nodded weakly and closed his eyes. Kelile continued monitoring his vitals while calling for the ship's gurney from the survivor's ship.

While approaching the ship, Kelile started reflecting on whether the survivor would recover enough to shed more light on the mysterious events that led to his current situation.

As Kelile tended to the survivor's injuries, he couldn't help but notice that the driftless ship was miraculously intact, despite the debris field filled with fast-moving debris. He couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to this ship than met the eye, especially considering the survivor's cryptic words about his ancestors and the DNA of all life on Mars.

Kelile's attention was drawn to the ship's hangar, which he noticed had enough space to dock his fighter ship. He began to wonder how the survivor had managed to keep the ship in such good condition, despite the recent battle. Could this ship hold the key to uncovering the secrets of the forgotten civilization? Kelile realized that he needed to remain calm and focused if he hoped to find a way back to his people and uncover the truth behind the survivor's cryptic words.

With Kelile's ship now safely docked, and the survivor stable under the care of the ship's A.I. in the med-bay, Kelile sank into the pilot's seat and set a course for the nearest space station. As the ship glided through the vibrant purple gas of the nebula outside the window, Kelile found himself succumbing to exhaustion. Slowly, his eyes drooped shut, and he drifted off into a deep sleep.
