CARAMEL
- Coffee Catchup -

Every time Octavia woke up the morning after drinking and she didn't have a lecture until the afternoon she wouldn't get out of bed till lunch time. Sometimes she wouldn't get out of bed at all and would just email her Professor claiming she had 'come down with something' and 'unfortunately wouldn't be able to make it to class' because why would she get out of bed against her will?

Today was not one of the days where she slept in till three in the afternoon. It was one of the days where it was lunch time. Well, almost lunch time. Surprisingly at eleven, Octavia was out of bed and getting dressed into a pleated skirt with a pair of tights, converse and a green crewneck. Her hair in a slicked back ponytail.

The redhead picked her phone up from the chest of drawers next to her bed, responding to three texts from Luke telling her, he had brought her back and that he hoped she wasn't too hungover. Then laughing at the fifty four missed calls she had from Michael and one text from five minutes ago - reading 'ignore that please, you know i'm a needy drunk'. To be quite honest the most shocking part was that Michael was awake this early on in the day - then Via put together the pieces of him most likely having a morning lecture and sent him her condolences before opening the call app on her phone.

After searching for a few moments and finding a specific contact, Octavia pressed call on the person's name and held the phone up to her ear as she slipped on her converse.

"Mia!" Octavia cheered as the connection went through, her phone tucked between her ear and her shoulder as she tied her shoelaces. Thankfully her roommate wasn't home otherwise she would've been reprimanded for 'being too loud'. The noise complaints were no joke.

The redhead quickly then put the device on speaker, carrying it through to the bathroom as she grabbed a handful of earrings on her way. The girl placed both the phone and jewellery next to the sink as she began to take earrings out of her ear and make pairs with new ones. When her hair was up she didn't like to run the risk of her jewellery not matching.

"Octavia!" The girl on the other end of the phone shouted back in the same tone. Mia was Ashton's girlfriend who went to a campus a twenty minute drive away because she wanted to study musical theatre rather than the music theory course her boyfriend and his friends attended. The brunette visited all the time though, and that was why she was such good friends with the guys and Octavia.

The group of guys were already irritating enough, but having to deal with them when hungover was something Octavia had put herself through once and very quickly decided she never wanted to do again. It ended with a very large headache, a black eye and several hundreds of pounds worth of broken glass.

That was why every morning for as long as she could remember, when Octavia didn't have a lecture she would call Mia and they would go for coffee together. It was much easier to ease her headache over a catch-up and coffee rather than with Michael jumping up and down on her bed.

"Let me guess." The brunette queered, and Via could feel the eyebrow raise through the screen. "Hungover coffee meet?" A laugh escaped Mia's lips as she heard the hum of agreement coming from the other end of the phone line - as well as the silent curse when Octavia accidentally stabbed her self instead of putting the earring through the hole in her ear.

"I'll see you in twenty." Mia confirmed hearing a shouted "i love you" down the line before shouting one back and ending the call.

Almost as if the universe wanted the duo to be best friends, there was a little coffee shop a ten minute way from the pair of them - twenty minute walk on Octavia's end because she was a passenger princess and carpooled everywhere outside of campus with one of the boys. Michael drove her home and back at holidays and Luke was a very willing Uber driver when compromised with.

Octavia finished getting ready, grabbing her headphones for the walk so she could listen to music, leaving a note for her roommate on the way out. Just incase the girl was presumed dead. Mike had her location anyway if worst came to worst. He liked to partake in a little daily stalking.

The coffee shop was quite quaint. You never really saw new customers in there until the start of a new school year when all the freshmen would start to search the area for their next hang out spot once they'd assorted themself into friend groups. And most of the time - three quarters of the people who ended up trying out the coffee shop never came back. The elders didn't mind though. They preferred the place to themselves where they knew everybody who attended.

When Octavia arrived at the shop she could already see Mia sat in their designated booth in the corner. Bonus of the same people going - everybody had preferred seats. They knew what they did and didn't like. They knew what other guests liked and didn't like. There was always an unofficial seating arrangement.

The redhead let out a small squeal, partaking in a little running that wasn't technically running but it also wasn't walking. Once making eye contact, Mia immediately rose from her seat engulfing the shorter girl in a hug. There wasn't much in their height difference but Mia was taller - the lines became blurred when the duo went out drinking however. Depending on who wore what size shoe (heels or docs or converse.)

Mia was stunning, there was no denying it. She had pretty collarbone length brown hair that was incredibly healthy because she hadn't yet tainted it with box dye like her friend. And she had gorgeous blue eyes. She had this perfect curvy figure and honestly if she wasn't dating Ashton, Octavia was one hundred percent sure she would be in love.

The brunette was always dressed well too - currently proving so in a pair of flared jeans, airforces and what Via would presume to be one of Ashton's crewnecks slung over her shoulder with the way it looked so big.

"Mia I missed you." Octavia breathed into the hug, letting out a sigh of peace. The school stuff got way too hectic sometimes and despite needing to go to a lecture later this meet up was making the whole situation a lot better. Via was honestly considering emailing in sick just so she didn't have to rush this reunion.

"Don't even I have so much to tell you it's not even funny." Mia pulled back from the hug wiggling her eyebrows about. Definitely gossip about Ashton Octavia let a smirk fall on her face.

"You go sit, I'll order our usual." The girl almost pushed Octavia into the red leather booth with the rush she was in. Quickly making her way to the counter to collect their drinks, leaving the red head with a smile on her face.
