CARAMEL
- The Party -
The walk to Michael's room wasn't long, but it was a chunk of Octavia's life she was not getting back anytime soon. The redhead boy rambled the entire way there about how they were gonna find someone to 'cheer her up' - he then proceeded to explain when he said she should get with him or his friends he didn't mean it in the slightest because he wouldn't be able to choose which one of them to side with when they inevitably argued - at this point Octavia decided it was a very good idea she hadn't always shared things with him after a night out.
Upon their arrival the party was in full swing. Three different games of beer pong, several make-out sessions happening against any and every wall possible. A group surrounding a bong in the corner, another large group continuously taking shots - and many more eventful situations.
The red headed duo were in the kitchen within seconds, red solo cups between their hands filled with the first beverage they could find - it wouldn't matter what it was eventually because they'd be too drunk to notice the difference between drinks.
"Hey Mikey!" A familiar curly brown haired boy cheered, throwing his arms in the air before embracing Michael into a bro hug, immediately after he wrapped his arms around Octavia loosely, the duo not all that fussed about engaging in an actual hug. "Hi Ash." A sweet smile placed itself on her lips before they made contact with her cup again.
Ashton was one of Michael's frat buddies. The first time he ever actually spoke to Octavia, he was walking her home from a party - courtesy of a certain boys demand. Via was so drunk she ended up ranting to him about how every night she'd gotten drunk she'd wake up with a hangover and a craving for Diet Coke and sushi. The next morning she awoke to a knock at her dorm door and Ashton standing there with a litre of Diet Coke and an array of sushi. It was safe to say that he was her favourite of Michael's friends.
"You brought the pretty one." An arm was slung over Octavia's shoulder, a very comfortable smirk sliding up her lips at the familiarity of the arm and the girl found herself bringing her drink towards her lips to hide her expression before turning to glance at the familiar blonde next to her - whose eyes were not engaging in subtle eye contact. And he quickly received a slap.
"Eyes off Hemmings. We're getting her in someone else's bed tonight." Michael aggressively shook his head a small fire burning in his stomach and he was uncertain as to if it was because of his alcohol consumption or the way his friend was eyeing up his other friend.
The redheaded girl was either seemingly oblivious to the eyes being sent her way or just merely unfazed by the whole ordeal. Politely engaging in conversation with Ashton, adjusting things like her hair and her top to make sure she didn't fall out of it, playing with the hem of her skirt and making it ever so slightly shorter when her overprotective best friend wasn't watching, lifting her hand up to hold the one that was resting at her collarbone.
"Well she's always welcome in mine." Luke winked at his best mate, knowing he wouldn't take it to heart - he flirted with everyone and you couldn't deny that it wasn't a secret. These three boys were the most lusted after on campus, and the only girl that had ever had a problem with the flirting was Octavia. Not even that, Michael was the one with the problem and Luke decided that he liked to play with fire and naturally decided to build an even more intimate relationship with the girl as all good friends would just to piss him off.
It was no secret that with Luke's arm over her shoulder and a red solo cup verging on empty - Octavia was very much so in her element, until a certain someone caught her eye and it felt like her stomach had just fallen through three floors and was now pulling her feet into the dirt.
Calum Hood was the greatest nuisance that Octavia had the displeasure of knowing existed. It was an even greater displeasure that he was not only one of Michael's frat buddies and greatest friend since they'd started school but also Luke's roommate. The same Luke who's room the redhead would disappear to whenever she needed to talk about something Michael couldn't know. And even better that the boy was a nosy bitch who also couldn't care less about Octavia or anything she wanted to keep private.
"Boys!" The very clearly drunken boy sang out as he hooked his arms over Ashton and Michael's shoulders, situating himself in between the duo with a little shimmy that had Octavia rolling her eyes. Did he always feel the need to be the centre of fucking attention? The redhead scowled once more, bringing her cup to her lips and sliding closer to Luke who was still firmly clung to her, a bottle of vodka in his hand and a tongue poking at his lip ring.
"Miss Marrows." His eyes met Octavia's, a glint in them she couldn't decipher but assumed it was because he was drunk and or high off of his little ass. The obnoxiously fake enthusiasm dripping from his tongue. "May as well take that top off, nothin we haven't seen before." His lips tugged up into a cocky smile as his eyes flickered downwards and the girl bit her cheek to prevent the string of curse words rising up her throat ready to be projected into his face. As if feeling the tense up, Luke let his hand squeeze the one holding his own resting on Octavia's collarbone - his silent way of telling her not to act upon the words spewing from his roommates mouth.
"Leave it out Cal." Ashton nudged his mate, a grateful smile on Octavia's part being sent in his direction. "Come on Ash." The man of the hour piped up again, the reassuring squeeze from Luke becoming less helpful. "You know she loves a good show. Doesn't like locking doors-"
"One more word comes out of your mouth and I'll pull your tongue out dragging your organs with it." The redhead snapped taking a step forwards, Michael and Ashton dragging back Calum, the smirk on his face proving he had gotten exactly what he wanted. And Luke rolling his eyes before making sure Octavia remained at his side whilst the pair kept glaring at one another.
"I need booze." Octavia suddenly let out a sigh, tilting her head to look up at Luke and temporarily blocking out the sight opposite her. The blonde in question raised an eyebrow in her direction gesturing towards the cup in her hand in amusement at her mood change. Via only responded by letting a sweet smile fall on her lips before tipping the cup upside down and watching as nothing fell out. An expectant look on her face as she let a smug smile tug at the upper corners of her lips, staring into Luke's eyes.
Luke laughed. A throaty laugh, before tightening his grip over the girls shoulder and dragging her off towards the kitchen prompting a laugh to fall from her lips. Nobody they were with was too fussed that they hadn't announced their departure, it was quite common that whenever Calum showed up, Octavia departed from the area. It just so happened that this time she took Luke with her. Michael didn't really care who she was with when it was his mates because he trusted them around her, and trusted her to take care of herself. Besides, the worst that could happen would be a drunken accident.
And it would mean nothing.
"I don't wanna remember my name in a few hours." Via grumbled under her breath, handing her cup to Luke once the blonde held an unopened bottle in the air triumphantly. A smirk crossed his lips before plucking the plastic from Octavia's hand and slipping the bottle into it instead. "I'd say that's your best bet." He leant back against the countertop, crossing his arms over his chest and watching the redhead shrug before opening the bottle.
"If I kill him tonight - you saw nothing." Via narrowed her eyes at the boy. Her entire body relaxing as she took a sip from the bottle - all previous tension at the mere existence of Calum in her presence fading away. "Sure." Luke playfully rolled his eyes before his hand was grabbed and he was dragged into the large group of people jumping about to music, the girl's rings were sharp against his skin but it was something he didn't mind and with the vodka in his system he cared even less as the duo spun around like idiots to the crappy bass shaking the room.
