So the other night, I was just thinking about how General "Pompey" Elliot had killed himself after WW1. It really saddened me to know about this, but then I thought about how heartbreaking it must have been to see so many go to the battlefield and never return. I can't imagine leading soldiers into battle, knowing that I would be leading so many to their deaths. It would break me down into small pieces mentally, I just wouldn't be able to deal with it.
So, I honestly don't blame him for doing so, though how much I wish he didn't
