A proud mother and father held their children in the hospital room. On May the 30th 2380, two twins were born to military personnel, perhaps destined to follow in their parent's footsteps. The first twin to arrive was Arron Grimes, his left eye was green while his right eye was brown. His father who was an infantryman for the empire, held Arron in his arms as he fought the tears in his eyes with a smile on his face. Arron's brother, Alex, was the younger twin by about 3 minutes and was being held by his mother who was still laying in the hospital bed.

Alex also had two different eye colors, his right eye was green and his left eye was brown. Their mother held Alex with a big smile on her face, it warmed her heart to see her children bear the same rich brown eyes as her husband and the same emerald green eyes that she had. In all of her years as a pilot for the empire she had never seen anything as beautiful as her babies.

Alex and Arron shared many of the same features, light skin, curly hair from their father, the same sharp jawline, and the same celestial nose from their mother. They did have some unique features that made it easier to identify the twins. The twins had black hair from their father that was short and curled easily however, Alex had a superman curl on the left side of his forehead while Arron's curl was on his right side. Despite the minor difference it was still hard to tell which twin was which, so they agreed to dye their superman curls different colors.

Arron dyed his curl blue and Alex dyed his curl red. Meanwhile, both of the twins had freckles on their faces below their eyes, but Arron's freckles were heavier around his nose, while Alex's freckles were heavy around his cheeks. Alex and Arron stayed side by side the moment they started school, with each passing grade the twins mirrored each other until middle school. Coincidentally middle school is also the start of the Empire's military academy.

Discipline is the first thing imperial soldiers are taught to keep a well-regulated military across the galaxy. However free thinking is greatly promoted to increase soldier adaptability and prevents soldiers from becoming too reliant on officers. The twins had no problem learning these things, Alex had their mother's calm attitude, he kept his thoughts to himself and rarely spoke against someone other than his brother, which would lead to many of the other cadets to try and push him around. They would only get one chance to back off before Arron found and resorted to the problem.

Like their father, Arron had his headstrong, and outspoken behavior. Arron always fought on his brother's behalf because he saw that his brother wouldn't fight for himself. What he didn't understand was that Alex saw no need to fight when he wasn't bothered by any bullies. Alex also had a way of making someone make a fool of themselves, but sometimes Alex will go looking for a fight just for his amusement.

In middle school the Empire teaches cadets drill and ceremony, and how to maintain their dress and appearance. During the final year of middle school cadets are given a choice of jobs depending on how well they performed in their core classes. The higher they scored the more jobs they could choose from. Both Arron and Alex scored exceptionally well, but Arron chose to be an infantryman. Alex saw an opportunity to become a pilot and he didn't hesitate to apply. He was chosen along with 50 other cadets out of 200 applicants. After going through leadership courses Alex earned his officer rank to attend flight school as well as high school.
