The stupidity

 "Delicious."

"Juicy."

"Green tea."

Alyssa, Emma and Heather walked back home from a tiring day at work. "Did you guys make any progress on the storyboarding for Chapter II of Genshin Impact 2?" Heather asked.

"I think you're too tired, Heather... Charlotte is the one working on Chapter 2!" Alyssa sighed.

Emma nodded. "We should go meet up with Charlotte soon. It's been a while since we saw her. Remember the good old days back in Tao Nan?"

"We always wanted to work at Hoyoverse – and here we are," Heather grinned. "Say, have you guys seen Charlotte recently?"

Just then, a boy ran forward, holding what looked like – a corpse?? – in his arms. The three of them recognised them both at once.

"Hohhh??" Alyssa gasped.

"Matthias...and Charlotte? NANI??" Heather recoiled.

"You... she... dead... Charlotte... Matthias... what??" Emma shook her head in disbelief. Had he killed her??

The two of them were a sorry sight. They were drenched in rain, blood and sweat (and other fluids).

Matthias panted, catching his breath. "Charlotte died...I ran from hospital...found Guanjun and Leanne...revived...ughh..."

Just then, Matthias passed out. The three girls rushed forward, instinctively trying to catch the two of them. Heather slung Matthias over her shoulder, and Emma took Charlotte.

"Erm Heather...I don't think that's gonna be good for his blood circulation." Alyssa pointed out, Matthias hanging limp from Heather's shoulder.

She sighed, shaking her head. "I guess we don't want him dead." She violently got him back up to his feet and tried to support him on his feet. "That's better I guess."

"So what the heck are we supposed to do now?? We have a dead corpse, someone that just passed out, and it's currently raining like shit!!" Emma yelled in frustration.

Forgot to mention, but it was currently raining cats and dogs, and the five bodies were drenched in the rain.

"Erm...send them to the hospital?" Alyssa suggested. Emma and Heather shrugged in unison, agreeing to the proposal. It seemed like the only logical thing to do.

At the hospital, they met a 'doctor', who knew the remedy to 'resurrect' a Genshin Impact gamer addict. The 'doctor', Angeline, pulled out her phone and played the Genshin impact opening song. The melodious tune echoed throughout the hospital ward, as Matthias, Heather, Emma Fang and Alyssa waited and prayed (maybe) fervently for Charlotte to reawaken. After what seemed like an eternity, Charlotte still lay limp in Matthias' arms, which Angeline responded to by sighing, as she delivered her final verdict, "She has vanished forever. I am sorry. I am unable to resurrect her."

"No!" Matthias cried out loud. "No!" He lunged forward towards Angeline, "It can't be! You have to resurrect her! Please...please."

Matthias took a while to accept the fact that Charlotte was gone.(a while is kinda an understatement) there was really nothing left for him that was worth living for. Death is the best option. It is the only option. Without my dear Charlotte, life would be a living hell. So I might as well go to hell instead. Matthias was blinded by grief. He hugged Charlotte for the last time, and whispered, "I...love you." And with that, he left the hospital ward. Like a robot, he walked to the lift lobby and took the lift to the roof of the hospital. The roof was empty, and so silent that you could hear a pin drop. A gust of wind blew him–a final goodbye. Step by step, Matthias walked closer and closer to the edge of the building. He stepped onto the ledge, and without hesitation, he took a final step off the roof. He closed his wet eyes as he plunged downward......into the abyss.
