The Singhania household had gotten used to their member being absent for quite a while. Bani missed him a lot more than other but she had learnt to silence it and get on with life. She knew that Veer missed him too but never said anything.
Most of her messages went unanswered and unseen. She supposed that he must have dropped his phone somewhere and lost it. But somehow she always hoped that he had it and will pick it up soon enough.
Though knowing that he isn't going to answer, Bani had a habit of checking his chat as if by magic he will answer.
"Woh sirf apni marzi se baat karta hai, Bani. Don't get yourself too hopeful. 3 saal ho chuke hai usko gaye. Ek din call nahi, ek din message nahi. Bas chala gaya." Tapish patted her shoulder as he sat down on the dining table next to him.
She got a text from Vanshika about being back in Mumbai.
Bani mentally sighed. She really wished he didn't go away like that.
"I though he was doing fine. Healing and recovering from his past. All of a sudden he ran away. What happened?" Bani asked Tapish, "he even missed your wedding."
Tapish sighed, "he only shows that he is fine. What bothers him, he doesn't share at all."
"V is still holding out hope though."
Tapish laughed, "She always has. Their history is way back."
Bani chuckled. Samrat Singhania was perhaps the one person in the family she bonded instantly with. He was honest like her and clear to the point with his issues with other people. But when it came to his insecurities, he goes MIA.
"Hello, birdies!!!"
Veer flew off the top of the stand and tackled Vanshika to the ground.
"Ayee... kya hai yeh??"
"Pehle ye bata meri izzat toh nahi duba di na?"
Vanshika laughed out loud. "Kya lagta hai? Kabhi naak katai hai tumhari?"
Veer laughed too and let her off. She dusted her dress and walked over to the table. Meera shook her head with their antics. Veer rested his hand over Vanshika's shoulder. The two stood behind Tapish.
"Good morning, Meera di. Good morning, Bani."
Before Ponky sat on the breakfast table, he passed Vanshika a drink. "Subah subah zaroori hai?" Bani took the drink away from both of them.
"Bhabhi, kya subah kya shaam?" He complained.
"Shaam ko we're meeting at club." Veer told Vanshika. Vanshika's phone beeped then. She picked it up to see.
Megha: Sun, I'm in Mumbai. My packers and movers will come day after tomorrow. I'm thinking we should meet up today.
Vanshika smiled at the message. "Yeh Megha kon hai?" Veer asked her, raising an eyebrow.
"Stop peeping into my phone."
"Ey, chal chal, natak mat kar. I know all your friends. Remember how your college friend Rhea would hit on me really bad?"
Vanshika shushed him, "Teri shaadi ho gayi hai. Thodi sharam kar. Bani sunegi toh meri bhi dosti tudwa degi.." Both of them laughed at that.
"Tum dono ky ahas rahe ho?" Bani asked.
"Kuch nahi, sweetheart. Tum chai piyo." He turned to her, "But at least yeh to bata ki Megha hai kon?"
"I just made friends with her over the trip." She said and then suddenly looked excited, "I need to show you this. She has such a cool car. She had made it herself." Vanshika showed him a photo of Megha's car. Megha had taken the photo of Vanshika by the car.
"Seriously? She made it?"
"Sach mein. She herself did. She's an engineer. Major in robotics and mechanical."
Megha's car was beautiful mix of brilliant design and speed. It could almost have a competition with porsche in its looks.
"Yeh maal hai!!!" Ponky peeked through them seeing the photo of the car.
Vanshika and Veer both swatted his had off their shoulder. "Ruk na bey."
"Bhabhi!!!!" Ponky complained.
"Yeh tum dono ko kaam nahi hai kya? Kyu bekar mein pareshaan kar rahe ho usko?" Meera scolded them.
"Meera di, ise tameez hi nahi hum kya kare?" Vanshika answered and turned to Ponky, "Jab do bade baat kar rahe ho toh choto ko tokna nahi chahiye."
Veer, Vanshika, and Daksh started laughing.
Ponky huffed and sat at his chair.
"I'll come to club with you guys later. I have to meet up with her today."
"Waah. Nayi dosti ke liye purane dost gaye bhaad mein?" Tapish questioned.
"Tapish bhai, aag mat lagao bekar mein." Tapish turned around to look at them.
"Ek baat batao, kya hi problem hai agar hum mil le tumhari nayi dost se?"
"Tapish, rehne do. Nahi milana hai use apni dost ko humse. Use lagta hi nahi hai ki hume uske friends se milna chahiye..." Meera sighed.
"Meera di, aap bhi?"
"Aur nahi toh kya?"
"Bani aur Meera di aa sakte hai milne but cheel sabh allowed nahi hai."
"Yeh kya discrimination hai?" Veer asked, "Behen allowed hai, jiju allowed nahi hai? Isn't it a rule or something ki ghar ke damad ko izzat milni chahiye?"
"Damad agar thoda behave kar le toh obviously milegi..." Bani sassed him
"Excuse me... Main bohot hi accha husband hun. Kya problem hai?"
"Ohooo? Yeh galat fehmi kabse ho gayi?" Bani rested her chin on her palm.
"Sweetheart, kal raat ko hi prove kiya maine... tab toh tareefon ke pul baand rahi thi. Subah hote hi complaints shuru ho gaye?"
Meera swatted him for the crass comment while Bani threw an apple at him. Everyone started laughing.
"Kyu subah prove nahi kiya?" Vanshika asked, just to tease Bani.
"Bilkul karta but madam ko jaldi thi office jaane ki."
"Tum dono chup karo." Bani shut them up.
Veer and Vanshika started laughing.
"But yeh toh batao ki hum kyu nahi mil sakte tumhari dost se?" Tapish didn't let the topic change.
"Because she likes to stay away from all this cheel business."
"Cheelon ke bare mein use pata hai?"
"Haan. She's one of your people. But she likes staying away from all of it. So, none of you are allowed."

You guys are so amazingly lovely for still following my writing. To be honest, for a while with the show being so annoying but the plot lines being so tempting, I had begun to write Rising Phoenix.
That's when my two babies, Vanshika and Sam, had formed. My initial draft for them wasn't so in deep. I thought let me just add mix elements but now these two characters have grown on me so much.
Childhood love is one of my second favourite tropes. Also, the trope of 'they fell in love together' is what actually made me feel Vanshika and Sam to deserve this story.
But you guys are still cheering on this story so much and it makes me so happy.
