Like a rocket to the sky

I've got a girlfriend.

“w-what?” I asked, shocked. “I think I like you as more than a friend” he said putting his hands in his pockets and looking at me awkwardly. I didn’t know what to say... “Maybe I shouldn’t have said anything” he mumbled looking slightly embarrassed. I then did the only thing my mind could think to do, I put my hands on either side of his face and kissed him. We pulled away and he rested his forehead on mine, “I like you too” I breathe and a big grin formed on his face. “woahh.. what do we have here?” Jay winked from the doorway. Shit. “Please don’t tell Tom!”I panicked, I didn’t want Tom to find out just yet. “Don’t worry, your secrets safe with me” he tapped his nose, “What secret?” Max asked as he walked past but stopped when he saw me and Nath stood together “oh..”. I looked down towards the floor embarrassed. “Max, please don’t tell Tom! I don’t want him to find out yet” I asked looking at him hopefully. “Don’t worry babe, I won’t tell” he smiled and walked away again. “Maybe we should be a little more careful” Nathan chuckled and kissed my cheek before leaving and going back to his bedroom.

I was sitting in my bedroom when I heard a knock at the door, “come in” I called and the door opened to reveal a shirtless Tom standing in the doorway, surprise, surprise. “hey” he smiled, “sup?” I asked him, “well, I haven’t seen much of you really recently so I thought we could go out for the day, just us?” he asked, “yeah sure, where to?” “it’s a surprise” he winked, “but how will I know what to wear?” I frowned a him, “nice but casual” he said simply, “and be ready in an hour” he winked and walked out. “AN HOUR?!” I shouted out to him and I heard him laugh in response. I jumped up and ran to my wardrobe to pick out an outfit. I decided on wearing a simple white sleeveless sheer shirt tucked into a pink layered skirt with black bird patterns on it. I pulled them out of my wardrobe and laid them out on my bed. I stripped down to my underwear and the door opened, “oh sorry” Nathan looked away blushing. I laughed “it’s fine, what’s up?” I asked as I slipped on my skirt and did up the zip. “I just came to see you while the others aren’t around” he winked and walked in, shutting the door and sitting down on my bed. “about what?” I asked him as I did up the bottons on my shirt and tucked it into my skirt. “I didn’t think that far” he laughed, I rolled my eyes and grabbed a black ¾ length cardigan and some black Vans. “Beth..?” he asked, I turned on my seat at the mirror to look at him, sleeve “yeah?” I asked, puzzled, “I really do like you and I was wondering if you wanted to go on a date with me sometime maybe?.. I mean, you don’t have too.. unless you do want to.. but you don’t have to.. I just thought it would be nice and-“he started “I’d love to Nath” I smiled at him, cutting him off. “okay, well ill speak to you later then, have fun with Tom, you look lovely” he smiled and kissed me lightly on the lips, “thanks Nath” I smiled as he walked out again. I applied some subtle makeup and straightened my hair, smiling to myself. I touched my lips where he just kissed me and couldn’t help the grin that spread across my face. I grabbed my bag and headed out to find Tom, still grinning like a fool.

I skipped down the stairs and Tom was waiting in the lounge with the others, he was wearing some dark jeans, black converse and a tee that said ‘you can’t arrest me, I'm a rock star’.  “Ready?” I asked him “yeah, let’s go. You look lovely by the way” he smiled and we waved to the others before heading out the door. “so, where are we going?” I asked him as we walked down the road, “that’s still a surprise” he winked and grabbed my hand before leading us down a few narrow roads and out into a big field where there was a fair smothering the land. “wooo!” I cheered, I loved fairs so much. “I knew you would love it!” he smiled clearly proud of himself. “Let’s go biatch!” I laughed and we ran down the hill and into the fair. We went on all of the rides at least twice until we both felt too sick to go on anymore so then we decided to go on all the stalls. Tom won me a cute little elephant teddy and I won him a bundle of alcohol cause I'm underage and couldn’t have them unless I gave them to him. We bought candy-floss and hotdogs and all sorts of other fairground food. We were walking around sipping on drinks when Tom stopped and turned to me, “Hey, Beth..?” he asked nervously, “yeah TomTom?” “There’s something I want to tell you” he said, and he looked quiye excited actually, “what is it?” I asked, confused now, “I erm. I got a girlfriend” he grinned from ear to ear. “oh wow Tomtom!” I squealed jumping up and down and jumping into his arms, “I'm so happy for you! What does she look like? Is she nice? When will I meet her? she hasn’t got kids has she? Do you love her? do-“ I started “woah, woah, calm down, yes she’s great and no she hasn’t got kids! She’s actually a dancer too and guess what..” he smiled, “what?” I asked confused, “I got you and Kat a job as teachers at her dance school” he grinned at me “OH MY GOD REALLY?!” I shouted, “yeah, I also spoke to your parents and we’ve arranged for you to live over here. We arranged it before your trip here, its part of your birthday present. Me, Kat, your parents, Kat’s parents and us boys have all put money together to buy you a flat.” He finished and I just stared at him, completely speechless. “fuck” Is all I could manage to say, “thank you, thank you, thank you!” I shouted once I had managed to get over it enough, tears started to trickle down my cheeks, “Tom you’ve made my dream come true.. I love you so fucking much okay?” I stuttered out and he wrapped me in a hug, “anything for you” he said an kissed my head.  “Come on then, wanna see the flat?” he winked and handed me a small black box. I opened the lid and a brightly coloured key was sitting in there. “Let’s go!” I squealed and Tom lead me back towards the boys house. When we arrived at the house I unlocked the door and all the guys and Kat were in there “surprise!” they all shouted at me “LET’S GET WASTED!” shouted Tom from behind me, I just laughed at him and patted him on the shoulder. “oh Tomtom” I sighed and everyone laughed. “Thank you all so much!” I smiled, a stray tear falling down my cheek. Kat came up and wrapped me in a tight hug, “Happy birthday party!” she sung into my ear, “thank you Kitty Kat” I smiled and kissed her on the cheek. “PARTAAAY!” called Jay as Nathan switched on some music and we all started dancing and drinking till we were too drunk to stand.
