Zayn nodded slowly, his eyes trailing away.
"Yeh, me too."
The young woman took a deep breath, trying to calm her heart to a normal rate once again, and made a noise of sympathy.
Zayn looked up. "Do you want to talk about it? I mean, I usually don't, but it could help..."
"Uh-Uhm... I guess. Could you, like... go first? If it isn't, you know, too uncomfortable for you or anything."
"Nah, I'll go. So like... It's a re-ocurring dream of mine. I'm on top of this tall building in some city and I'm there with my sisters and mum. We're out looking over the edge and for some reason we all jump off. We thought we could fly, can you imagine that? We made it close to the ground and suddenly I was hovering above a car, actually flying. But... Well, my sisters and mum weren't."
The young woman blinked. "Oh."
"Yeah... Hah. Second time today I've been in it, now."
"Before...?"
Zayn nodded painstakingly.
"I'm... sorry. That must be a scary thing to witness."
He shrugged. "M'just really close to them, that makes a difference. And yours was...?"
"Right." The young woman pursed her lips. "Uhm. I was in a room with no, like, door or windows. And this boy 'round my age, maybe, is suddenly there... He talked to me for a bit. I think his name was Harold... He started freaking out and yelling that I needed to wake up, that someone was coming, and in the end I called him Harry. I don't even know any Harry's."
Zayn seemed a bit shocked, his finger tapping against the arm chair.
"That's... Wow. I know a Harold, but he actually goes by Harry. Uh, just. Wow, he told me he had been having these weird dreams with some girl in them but I figured he was just on drugs."
The young woman frowned. "I, uhm. I've had these nightmares more than once, I think. I can't exactly remember, the details are a little fuzzy. But... Yeah, they're, uh, re-ocurring."
"Hmph. Odd, that is."
"Very."
And as unsettled that made the young woman feel, she forced herself to brush it aside. They were just silly nightmares, afterall. She had never met Zayn's Harry in her lifetime.
"So, uh... Zayn?"
He focused back on the young woman, a thoughtful look on his face. "Yeah, Missy?"
"I'd like to put my number in your contacts, if that's alright...," she said, giving a timid smile. His eyes lit up.
"Yes! I mean, like. If you're sure, mhm."
The young woman laughed quietly. "I'm sure."
Zayn handed over his phone quickly, almost dropping it on the phone. She giggled, going to his contacts and typing in her number. Then her name.
Her actual name.
She figured it was about time she listened to Harold and stopped pretending her solitude was comforting all the time. And, in that moment, there was no one she trusted more than Zayn. Not even her crazy aunts (but only because they had blabber mouths and couldn't keep a secret. Bless their souls.).
The young woman handed his phone back and he glanced down, doing a double-take when he noticed what she had inserted into the contact spot.
"Wait- really? You- I mean. Are you sure you wanted to do that."
She laughed kindly, nodding her head. "Don't worry, it wasn't an accident. Just, like... Don't tell Novaleen yet, please? I'll do it when we get off el tren."
Zayn shook his head in confirmation enthusiastically. "Of course, of course. I'll let you do that when you're ready. And-wait. El tren?"
"Spanish, Zayn. It's Spanish."
"...Well aren't you fancy."
... ... ...
