Adam felt a warmth in his body. He felt a lightness in his soul. He felt a return in his life.
He opened his eyes and saw a ceiling. He saw lights, wires, machines. He saw white.
He realized he was in a hospital. He realized he was alive.
He tried to move, but he felt pain all over his body. He tried to speak, but he felt dryness in his throat.
He heard a voice next to him. He turned his head and saw a face. A familiar face.
It was Lisa, his best friend since childhood. She was also a member of the Socialist Party (CWI). She was also wearing a red T-shirt.
She looked at him with joy in her eyes. She spoke to him with relief in her voice.
"Adam...Adam...you're awake...you're alive..."
She smiled and kissed him on the forehead.
"Adam...I'm so happy...this is a miracle..."
He nodded weakly and smiled back.
"Lisa...I'm happy too...how did this happen?"
She explained to him what had happened after he had been shot.
She told him how Tom had dragged her away from Adam's body and how they had managed to escape from the Blue forces' attack.
She told him how they had found an ambulance driven by some Red sympathizers who had taken them to a secret hospital run by some Red doctors and nurses.
She told him how Adam had been operated on by some Red surgeons who had removed the bullet from his chest and saved his life.
She told him how she had stayed by his side for days, praying for his recovery.
She told him how he had finally woken up after two weeks of coma.
He listened to her story with amazement in his ears. He thanked her for her loyalty in his heart.
"Lisa...you're amazing...you're my hero..."
She blushed and hugged him.
"Adam...you're amazing too...you're my love..."
They kissed softly and held each other tightly.
They felt happy and lucky. They felt alive and loved.
