Chapter 14

[Note: im so sorry i haven't been uploading much, I've been at my dads and I'm also sick. Im gonna try to post whenever im able to though. 💕]

I stood infront of the gateway. "Seriously?"

Me, Chishiya and Kuina looked up to see the barrier around the beach form.

A male announcer voice started to speak. "We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank you for staying at seaside parade, Tokyo. As a token of our appreciation, we will now commence a game with all 59 participants in the venue."

"The beach is a Game arena!?" I asked, sacredly. A female announcer voice could be heard "All participants must assemble in the lobby immediately. The rules of the game will then be explained. I repeat. All participants must assemble in the lobby immediately."

I had arrived at the lobby of the beach with Kuina and Chishiya, where everyone else was also at... besides Arisu. I grabbed three phones and handed one each to the two people I were with.

Murmuring could be heard as I looked down to see a Momoka, with a knife stabbed threw her breast.

"Momoka! Momoka! Why..." Asahi yelled as she ran over to the dead body and started sobbing.

The phones chimed and the female announcer started to speak. "Game, "witch hunt". The murderous witch who killed this girl is hiding amongst you in plain sight. The witch role is not limited to women." "She's hiding here?" A female voice could be heard.

"To clear the game, you must find the witch and burn him or her in the fire of judgement. Time limit, two hours."

Most people including me, looked over to the back of the beach to see fire crackling in wood.

"The game will now commence."

"There's a Fire in the back of the Building!" A man yelled.

The crowd started clamoring.

"We have to find whoever murdered Momoka and burn them in the fire of judgement." Ann stated with her arms crossed.

"A witch hunt game, huh? This ought to be good." Niragi said excitedly while stepping forward to Usagi and shortly after whispering something in her ear. "All right, let's go witch hunting!" Niragi yelled with a rifle over his shoulder like always.

Overlapping chatter from most people in the room started. Chishiya started to walk somewhere, and confused me and Kuina started to walk behind him.

On our way to wherever we were going, gunshots and screaming started. That means the fun is starting.

The three of us had arrived in the security room, with cameras. "They've all gone crazy." I said with my arms crossed looking into the cameras. "Not their smartest move. Why would they go so far just to survive?" Chishiya asked himself with his hands in his pockets. "There's no way to find out who the witch is this way." I said. "You could be the witch. Right, y/n? You too Kuina." Chishiya said.

I turned over to the blonde. "Or it could be you my love, right?"

Chishiya scoffs while smiling. "I think I'm gonna go look for Ann." Kuina said. "Sounds good to me, I have to go take care of some business." Chishiya replied.

"Oh great I'll come-" I got cut off by the blonde, "no. You go with Kuina."

"But-"

"I think you should just come with be y/n." Kuina said to me.

I nod.

Me and Kuina had finally found Ann in the room with computers and lots of tech, and science like things.l

Ann looked up scared when we walked through the door. "What do you want?" Ann asked us two. "Ann. What are you doing?" Kuina asked the short haired woman as the two of us stepped forward.

"Cole here and give me a hand." Ann said as she started looking through drawers. "Are you the witch?" Kuina asked.

"Unfortunately, not. What about you too?" Ann looked up but me and Kuina didn't reply.

"I'm guessing not. Anyone trying to find the witch on their own is not one. If you were the witch, you'd be hiding right now. Or having fun killing people." Ann said as she continued searching for more stuff while putting some in her pockets.

"Like Kuina said earlier, what are you doing?" I asked Ann, as I started getting closer to her.

"Looking for the witch. Ah, here it is." Ann said as she grabbed an unknown item. "What's that?" I had asked the woman.

"Cyanoacrylate glue. It's super glue." Ann explained. "And?" I asked. Ann turned around as she walked somewhere in the room. "And if we hear this uo and apply it on the murder weapon, all the moisture in the cyanoacrylate will evaporate and hopefully, leave behind fingerprints." She explained. "Fingerprints?" I asked. Ann opened a door to a room that was in the room we were in before and walked over to some lamp thing.

"Then I'll be able to use cocoa powder to dust for fingerprints on the knife handle. After I lift the fingerprints with cellophane tape, I'll be able to identify the witch." Ann explained. "What did you do before you came here?" Kuina asked.

"Forensics, Tokyo metro police." Ann replied to Kuinas question. "Pretty good. We can clear the game with this." Kuina said with a smile on her face.

Soon after that the three of us slowed down when we saw the last boss holding his sword in smoke.

"You two, go ahead." Kuina said to me and Ann.

"What?" I asked as I looked over to the girl.

"Just go."

I was worried about both Kuina and Chishiya the whole time I was walking back to a room with Ann.

"Ann, I'm gonna go look for Chishiya. Good luck on finding the witch."

Ann nodded. "Be careful y/n."
