chapter 20

"other players are starting to group together. i say.

"could be more than one shooter" arisu says. "i had no idea so many players were still alive." i said with confusion.  i gasp at the gunshots that i hear. "they're almost hear." Arisu says as starts to run somewhere else.

"we have to go! come on!" he yells. we come out of our hiding spot and there's a lot of people running around bumping into us. "This is bad!" I tell.

"We need to split up!" Chishiya yelled.

I ran the same way as Chishiya, I had to make sure I didn't loose him.

He grabbed my hand, "you'll be okay!" He made a loud whisper into my ear, through my hair.

Me and Chishiya saw Kuina and we decided to join in with her, hiding behind a car. Kuina peeked around the car, and saw Arisu. "Are you trying to get killed out there?" she yelped. "Where are they shooting from, anyway?" Kuina asked confused, as she came back into her hiding spot.

Chishiya looked up and tapped my shoulder he pointed to the sky, and I saw a blimp "huh. He must be the king of spades." Chishiya said.

The metalic blimp started hovering over us. Intense rumbling, was heard from the blimp.

"Take this a good luck charm" chishiya handed me and unknown object.

"An explosive? you made this?" I held the bomb. "Just use it if you have to." Chishiya held another one in his hand, except it was green. I saw Usagi and Arisu run to the car next to us.

"Hey! You too ok? You hurt?" I ask them as I wave. soon after bursts of gunfire were heard.

" the king of spades is just one guy" I say.

"We're pinned down here!" I yell.

"If we step out, he will get us" Usagi replied. I got startled when I heard horn honks, and a vehicle drives up.

The horn blares and I peek behind the car that we are hiding behind. The tires on the car squeal.

I see Tatta climb through the window and yells "get in!" "Tatta!" Arisu yells. "Don't just stand there!" Ann yells.

"Ann!"

I run to the car with Chishiya and I look over to him to see him running with his hands in his pockets. Me and Chishiya were still running while everyone was in the car.

"Run, you too!" Kuina yells.

Once we get closer to the car, I hear something rolling on the floor. I looked down to see one of Chishiyas bombs. "Thats bad. Get going!" Chishiya grab my hand, and we ran away from the bomb and hid behind the car.

I sigh in relief. "I hope we find them again.."

*time skip*

It was late at night and me and Chishiya had arrived at a game, the jack of hearts. It was at a jail cell, I was hoping that it wouldn't be a game were either me or Chishiya had to loose eachother.

The two of us walked over to a white table with a sign that said to take one. There were collars.

Chishiya helped me put mine around my neck and I helped him.

We walked up the stairs to see a few people, the one who caught my eye was a girl in space buns and a blue dress. She looked psycho in a way.

Chishiya leans against a wall and sighs. I look over to the stairs to see a man arriving, he had a blue button up and cavity pants. He looked familiar. He stared at me and caught me looking at him, as soon as she saw me I turned away.

The PA chimed. "Difficulty level, jack of hearts. Game, solitary confinement. Rules. Guess the card suit that appears on the back of your collar. However, you may not look at the symbol yourself."

A old woman in a cardigan started to play with her collar, trying to take it off. "I can't see anything." She says. "The time limit is one hour per round. In the final five minutes, enter your cell and disclose your symbol." The lights in a hallway started to buzz as they lit up.

"If you do not answer with the correct symbol, it is game over. The dollar will explode, and you will die. Additionally, when the time limit reaches zero, the symbol on the collar will reset and change for each round."

"Wait a sec. So that means we just have to ask each other what our symbols are. That's easy, huh?" A short boy who was dressed like a minion looked over to me and Chishiya. "I'm not so sure. They haven't told us what the conditions to win are yet." Chishiya responded. "The solitary confinement game is about ow much you can trust your fellow players. Be aware that your opponent, the jack of hearts, has already been placed among you."

"Oh, that's good." Chishiya said.  "So one of us, is the jack of hearts?" A boy asks confusedly.

"How to win. Rounds repeat every hour. You win the game when the jack of hearts dies."

I look over to see a man grunting and pulling on his collar. That isn't very smart, I scoffed. "Prohibited actions. Looking at your symbol with a reflective surface is cheating. Players may not use weapons or violence to kill fellow players."

"This means that the only way this game will ever end is if the jack gives the wrong answer. So, basically, no one here is getting out alive, unless they lie to the jack." Chishiya said, he spoke the truth.

The computer started to speak again. "There is no limit to the number of rounds." "what..?" I say under my breath.

"There's no limit?" A man says scaredly. "Enough food has been provided." The computer says. "What?" The minion besides me asks himself.

"While participating in this game, no days will be removed from your visas." The female robotic voice explains.

"So we need to start lying." I say and cross my arms. "We have to find the jack of hearts, and kill them off, or we will live out the rest of our days in this prison. Solitary for life." Chishiya says.

"The game will now commence.
